Hoi Carin. Ja, ik ben met je eens. Ik zal het even weghalen.

Are there supposed to be armholes cast off at the edges of the back piece?? I've reworked it about 3 times now and I still can't get how the front and back pieces are supposed to go together if they don't match!
05.02.2013 - 01:14DROPS Design answered:
Dear Janet, you cast off for armholes 3-4-5-6-8-10 sts (see size) each side (= at the beg of next 2 rows) when back/front piece measure 40-41-42-43-44-45 cm. Happy knitting !

Derefter syr du ærmesømmene + sidesøm paa één gang i yderste led af yderste m.

Hallo, 60 cm Rundnadel etwas kurz fuer die grossen Teile.
05.09.2012 - 17:58DROPS Design answered:

Knitted DROPS jumper in garter st in "Alpaca” and ”Brushed Alpaca Silk” or ”Symphony”. Size S-XXXL
DROPS 142-19 |
|
GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. MEASURING TIP: Because of the weight of the yarn all measurements must be done by holding the piece up otherwise the garment will be too long when worn. -------------------------------------------------------- BACK PIECE: Worked back and forth on needle. Loosely cast on 69-75-81-90-99-108 sts on circular needle size 6 mm with 1 strand Alpaca + 1 strand Brushed Alpaca Silk or 1 strand Symphony. Work rib as follows: * K 1, P 2 *, repeat from *-* the entire row (1st row = RS). Work rib for 5-5-5-6-6-6 cm. On last row from WS, P all sts while AT THE SAME TIME dec 11-13-13-16-17-18 sts evenly = 58-62-68-74-82-90 sts. Then switch to needle size 8 mm and work in GARTER ST - see explanation above. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 40-41-42-43-44-45 cm, cast off for armholes as follows: Cast off 3-4-5-6-8-10 sts at beg of the next 2 rows = 52-54-58-62-66-70 sts. Insert a marker at beg and end of row (where to knit up sleeves later). Continue in garter st until piece measures 53-55-57-59-61-63 cm. Then cast off the middle 16-18-18-20-20-22 sts for neck and finish each shoulder separately. Then cast off 1 st on next row from neck = 17-17-19-20-22-23 sts remain on the shoulder. Loosely cast off all sts when piece measures 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm. FRONT PIECE: Cast on and work as on back piece until piece measures 48-50-51-53-54-56 cm. Then cast off the middle 8-8-10-10-12-12 sts for neck and finish each shoulder separately. Then cast off on every row from neck as follows: 2 sts 1-1-1-2-1-2 times, 1 st 3-4-3-2-3-2 times = 17-17-19-20-22-23 sts remain on shoulder. Loosely cast off all sts when piece measures 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm. ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulder seams in front loop of outermost sts. SLEEVE: Worked back and forth on needle. Knit up from RS approx. 50 to 60 sts between markers along one armhole on needle size 8 mm (NOTE: Do not knit up sts over the cast off sts for armhole). K next row - while AT THE SAME TIME adjusting no of sts to 42-44-48-50-52-54. Work in garter st for 2-3-4-5-6-8 cm, then dec 1 st (by K tog the 2 outermost sts) in each side of piece. Repeat dec every 6½-6½-5½-4½-4½-3½ cm 6-6-7-8-8-9 more times (= a total of 7-7-8-9-9-10 times) = 28-30-32-32-34-34 sts. Continue in garter st until piece measures 44-44-44-43-43-42 cm (shorter measurements in the larger sizes because of broader shoulder width). On next row from WS, K while AT THE SAME TIME inc 8-6-7-10-11-11 sts evenly = 36-36-39-42-45-45 sts. Then switch to circular needle size 6 mm and work rib (K 1/P 2) for 5 cm, loosely cast off all sts with K over K and P over P. Piece measures approx. 49-49-49-48-48-47 cm. ASSEMBLY: Sew in outermost loop on edge sts to avoid a chunky seam. Sew sleeves to front and back piece. Sew openings under sleeves tog, and then finally sew down the side of front and back piece. NECK EDGE: Worked in the round on circular needle. Knit up from RS approx. 90 to 110 sts along the neck on circular needle size 6 mm. P next round - while AT THE SAME TIME adjusting no of sts to 81-84-90-96-99-105. Then work rib (= K 1/P 2) approx. 2½ cm, then loosely cast off all sts with K over K and P over P. |
