OK I think I understand now, but wouldn't row 4 be bind off 2 again? I may be overthinking by now, but just want to be sure. Thank you so much for the help, and for the lovely pattern

Ooops.correction to my last question: I am still confused by the wording. I am working on one side of the vest, knitting back and forth. Do I bind off 2 stitches beginning of row 1, then bind off 3 stitches beginning of row 2? So my knit rows always begin w 2 bind off, and the purl rows begin with 3 bind off..for a total of 40 rows? Thank you for your help

Dear Zulema, you will work that way : Row1: bind off 2 sts at the beg of row - Row2:bind off 3 sts at the beg of row - Row3: bind off 3 sts at the beg of row - Row 4:bind off 3 sts at the beg of row. Repeat this 4 rows. Happy knitting!

I am now knitting the sides for XL and the measurements and binding off repeats do not add up. does bind of 2 sts at beg. every row 17 times =17 rows? If so it cannot = 7 1/2". My 17 bound of rows = 3 1/4"
20.06.2013 - 17:55DROPS Design answered:
Dear Zulema, in size XL, you will bind off 2 and 3 sts alternately in each side a total of 20 times : *2 sts each side at the beg of every row, 3 sts at the beg of every row each side* repeat from *-* a total of 20 times = a total of 40 rows = approx 19 cm / 7½". Happy knitting!

I have just started knitting Rustica and have a question about the 16 markers placed into each stitch on round 3. The pattern does not say to move these markers up with each round, or HOW to move them up. Directly above the stitch? Or one ove arbove the yarn over?
14.06.2013 - 16:05DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Zulema Skye, the markers should be placed in each of these 16 sts and be moved then upwards when working to stay always in these sts. Happy knitting!

I just started this pattern; it doesn't say to JOIN in the round. Should I assume to join in the first round, or go back and forth? until I hear from you, I plan on joining.
27.12.2012 - 15:10DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Niggel, the jacket is worked back and forth with shortened rows. The shortened rows will shape the piece into a circle : less rows = inside of the circle = middle back, more rows = outside towards bottom/neck and front edge. Happy knitting!

Hi there, I'm knitting this and am quite confused at the moment, plse help. At the end i.e. with 448 st. on the needle (knitting in XL), one casts off 74 for the neck and 74 for the back. Then you have to start with the front piece = 150 st. How do you get to 150 st.? I've got 300 sts. What am I doing wrong or was I supposed to cast off more? Thanks a stack. Berni
27.11.2012 - 20:24DROPS Design answered:
Dear Berni, you have a total of 448 sts and cast off 74 sts for the neck (at the very top) and 74 sts for the back (at the bottom), so that you will have each side 150 sts, ie between cast off sts for neck and back. Happy Knitting!

Liebe Ulrike, wir empfehlen immer, sich an den cm-Angeben im Diagramm zu orientieren – bei diesem Modell würde ich hierfür die Breite am Rücken nehmen (ganz unten im Diagramm).
