Im making this in a men’s small/medium, and it’s going great so far i’m confused about what i’m supposed to do for the front piece, specially where it says “Continue cast off for armhole on every other row: 2 sts 1-2-2 (0-1) times, 1 st 1-1-2 (1-1) times= 86-88-92 (96-98) sts.” i really have no idea what this means, any help would be great, thanks :)

Dear Mars, After casting off for the armhole in the body section, continue casting off for armhole on every other row: 2 sts 0 times, 1 st 1 times= 96 sts. For the first part, since you cast off 0 times you can skip that part of the instructions. For the second part, you cast off 1 stitch at the beginning of the next row from the right side and 1 stitch at the beginning of the next row from the wrong side. So you will have cast off 1 stitch 1 time for each armhole and you should have 96 stitches left. Happy knitting!

I am attempting to make this pattern in a men’s large. When beginning the bind off for the sleeves the pattern says “bind off 2 sts for armhole, front piece 104 sts, bind off 4 sts for armhole, back piece 104 sts, bind off 2 sts for armhole.” Do I need to bind off 2 or 4 sts and is this per row until I reach 104 sts.
17.09.2023 - 22:32DROPS Design answered:
Dear Rachael, the round starts in the middle of the armhole. So, start casting off 2 stitches for the first armhole, work 104 stitches for the front piece, cast off 4 stitches for the second armhole, work the next 104 stitches for the back piece and cast off the last 2 stitches for the first armhole. In total, you should have 104 stitches for each part of the body and 4 stitches cast off for each armhole. This is all worked in the same round. Starting from the next row, you will now work only over the 104 stitches of the front piece. Later, you will go back and work over the stitches on the back piece. Happy knitting!

If knitting in a single colour, how much wool is required for a medium size, men's jumper?
25.05.2021 - 16:14DROPS Design answered:
Dear Jo, in general, our men's sweater generally use 7-900 gramms of yarn. Please see our selection of men's sweaters, there should be something similar in one color. Happy Knitting!

I am having trouble with identifying some of the colours to be used. Firstly in the diagram the symbol for off white purl is obscured by a question mark. What is it? Secondly I cannot identify the following symbols used in the chart: thick diagonal black line from bottom right to top left in line 15 and 18 ; black diagonal cross in line 16; large rectangle in line 19 (larger than the symbol for green).
29.05.2019 - 20:01DROPS Design answered:
Dear Simmy, the diagonals will be edited they all are a purl stitch, seen from RS (= Purl these sts from RS, K them from WS). The square on row 19 is green. Happy knitting!

Hi Morwenna, Mid upper sleeve is the middle of the round, which will be on top of the sleeve when it is finished and mid under sleeve is the beginning of the round and will be the inside of the sleeve when finished. Happy knitting!
