GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. -------------------------------------------------------- BODY PIECE: Worked in the round on circular needle. Cast on 180-198-210-222-234-252 sts on circular needle size 6 mm with Vienna. K 1 round and continue in rib K3/P3 until piece measures 14-14-16-16-18-18 cm. Change to circular needle size 7 mm. K 1 round, AT THE SAME TIME dec 24-30-34-34-34-36 sts evenly = 156-168-176-188-200-216 sts. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Insert 1 marker at beg of round and 1 marker after 78-84-88-94-100-108 sts (front piece = 78-84-88-94-100-108 sts and back piece = 78-84-88-94-100-108 sts). Now complete piece in stocking st. On next round dec 1 st each side of both markers, and repeat the dec on every 4.5-4.5-4.5-5.5-6.5-6.5 cm a total of 7-7-7-6-5-5 times = 128-140-148-164-180-196 sts. READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SECTION BEFORE CONTINUING! When piece measures 51-52-53-56-57-60 cm cast off the middle 2 sts on front piece for split and continue back and forth on needle. Cast off to shape the neckline at the beg of every row from mid front: 1 st 2 times, 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 2 times, 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 2-2-3-3-3-3 times, then on every other row from mid front: 1 st 3 times. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 59-61-63-65-67-69 cm cast off 6 sts each side for armhole (= 3 sts each side of marker). Now complete front and back pieces separately. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Continue dec for neck, AT THE SAME TIME cast off for armhole at the beg of every row from the side as follows: 3 sts 0-0-0-1-2-2 times, 2 sts 1-2-2-3-3-4 times and 1 st 2-3-4-3-3-4 times. After all dec there are 11-11-11-11-12-13 sts left on shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 79-82-85-88-91-94 cm. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Like right front piece, but mirrored. BACK PIECE: = 58-64-68-76-84-92 sts. Cast off for armhole each side as described for front piece = 50-50-52-52-54-56 sts. When piece measures 73-76-79-82-85-88 cm cast off the middle 14-14-16-16-16-16 sts for neck and complete each shoulder separately. Cast off to shape the neckline on every other row: 3 sts 1 time and 2 sts 2 times = 11-11-11-11-12-13 sts left on shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 79-82-85-88-91-94 cm. SLEEVE: Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 36-36-42-42-48-48 sts on double pointed needles size 6 mm with Vienna. K 1 round and continue in rib K3/P3 until piece measures 14-14-16-16-18-18 cm. Insert a marker at beg of round. Change to double pointed needles size 7 mm. K 1 round, AT THE SAME TIME dec 2-2-6-6-8-8 sts evenly = 34-34-36-36-40-40 sts. Continue in stocking st, AT THE SAME TIME on first round inc 1 st each side of marker, and repeat the inc on every 4.5-3-3-2.5-2-1.5 cm a total of 6-8-8-9-10-11 times = 46-50-52-54-60-62 sts. When piece measures 45-44-44-45-41-39 cm (less for the larger sizes because of longer sleeve cap and wider shoulder) cast off 6 sts mid under sleeve (= 3 sts each side of marker) and complete piece back and forth on needle. Cast off for sleeve cap each side at the beg of every row: 2 sts 2 times, 1 st 1-3-3-3-6-7 times, then 2 sts each side until piece measures 54-55-55-56-56-56 cm, now cast off 3 sts 1 time each side, and cast off remaining sts. Sleeve measures approx 55-56-56-57-57-57 cm. NECK: Sew shoulder seams. Work neck back and forth on circular needle from mid front. Pick up 105-111-117-117-129-129 sts from RS round neckline with Vienna on circular needle size 6 mm. K 1 row from WS, and work next row as follows: 3 garter sts, work rib K3/P3 on the next 99-105-111-111-123-123 sts, and finish with 3 garter sts. Continue like this until rib measures 8 cm. On next row from RS inc 1 st in each P-section, rib now = K3/P4 = 121-128-135-135-149-149 sts in total. Continue with K over K and P over P until piece measures 14 cm. Now cast off 3 sts at beg of every row a total of 2 times, and cast off 3 sts and 4 sts alternately at the beg of every row until there are 37-44-51-51-65-65 sts left on needle. Cast off with K over K and P over P. ASSEMBLY: Sew right side of neck to neckline on left front piece, and left side of neck to neckline on right front piece. Set in sleeves inside 1 edge st. |
