Bon tricot!

I am onto chart M.2. I start at the last 2 sts. After the first repeat, do I continue to start at the beg of the chart? If I do that, then I am left with 8 sts at the end, not 5, and if I start where the beg is then I have 4 sts left, help please.
23.02.2014 - 18:43DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Devo, you work M.2 on the next 65 sts (2nd size), starting at the arrow for 38/40, ie work first the last 2 sts in diag, then repeat 3 times whole diagram and end with the first 3 sts in diag = 65 sts. Happy knitting!

Hej! En fråga, men är inte M1 uppochner i beskrivningen om man jämför med sockan på bilden?

Hi, stuck on introducing pattern M2 - it says to start at the arrow and work left. So I start at the arrow 38/40 and work the two stitches going left. The where do I go? Do I go to the beginning of the bottom line of the pattern, or the second, and do I then work to the arrow? Please could you just tell me how I work the first two lines or so of the pattern and then I'll probably catch on. Thanks

Dear Mrs Prescott, in size 38/40 you will first start the round with the 2 last st of diag, then start again at the bottom corner on the right side towards left. Happy knitting!

Det står att det ska minskas för vad efter 29-32cm, är det hela arbetet eller från att man börjar med garn 2 (dvs grått på bilden)?

Bij een totale hoogte van 29 cm moet je beginnen. Dus incl. de boord.

In the heel decrease, do you continur the pattern after the decrease through the end of the row? Or do you immediately turn the work around and start the next row of decreases? It appears the second way in the instructions but the first way makes more sense. Thank you Courtney
26.07.2012 - 17:38DROPS Design answered:
Dear Courtney, heel and heel dec are worked in pattern M4. After heel dec, pick up sts each side of heel and work M2 on upper foot with 1 st greay each side and M4 on the other sts. Happy Knitting!

Pattern: See diagram M.1 to M.4. Diagram shows the pattern from the RS. Work the entire pattern in stocking st. Heel dec: Row 1 (= RS): Work row until 7-7 sts remain, slip 1 st as if to K, K1, psso, turn the piece. Row 2 (= WS): Work row until 7-7 sts remain, slip 1 st as if to P, P1, psso, turn the piece. Row 3: Work row until 6-6 sts remain, slip 1 st as if to K, K1, psso, turn the piece. Row 4: Work row until 6-6 sts remain, slip 1 st as if to P, P1, psso, turn the piece. Continue dec like this with 1 less st before each dec until there are13-15 sts on row. Sock: Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 68-76 sts on needle size 3 mm with dark grey. Work rib, K2/P2, until piece measures 13-16 cm. Change to needle size 3.5 and work 2 rounds stocking st, at the same time inc 2-4 sts evenly on first round = 70-80 sts. Insert 1 Marking Thread (MT) at beg of round. Work M.1 on all sts (= 7-8 repeats across the row). After 1 vertical repeat of M.1 work next round as follows: repeat M.2 on the first 65-75 sts (see start arrow for your size, beg by arrow and work towards the left in diagram) and M.3 on the last 5 sts. Continue in pattern like this. When piece measures 29-32 cm beg dec at the back: K tog the 2 sts after M.3 and K tog the 2 sts before M.3 into back of loop on every 4th round a total of 11-14 times (dec in M.2) = 48-52 sts. When piece measures 50-56 cm keep the first 10-11 sts on needle for heel, slip the next 23-25 sts on a stitch holder (= mid upper foot) and keep the last 15-16 sts on needle = 25-27 sts for heel. Work stocking st back and forth on heel sts as follows: 1 row dark grey, then 5-6 cm of M.4. Now dec for heel - see Heel dec. After heel dec pick up 12-13 sts on either side of heel and slip the 23-25 sts back on needles = 60-66 sts. Continue in M.2 on the 24-26 sts on upper foot, work 1 dark grey st on both side of these and work M.4 on the remaining sts. At the same time dec each side as follows: work round to 3 sts before M.2, K2 tog, K 1 dark grey st, M.2, K 1 dark grey st, K tog 2 sts. Dec like this on every other round a total of 6 times = 48-54 sts. When the foot measures 19-21 cm (= approx 4-5 cm left, try the sock on and work to desired length) work 1 round dark grey on all sts and now complete foot in M.4 (keeping 1 dark grey st on both sides of foot). Dec for toes on each side of the dark grey st follows: Dec as follows before dark grey st: K2 tog. Dec as follows after dark grey st: K 2 tog into back of loop. Dec like this each side on every other round 3 times and then on every round 7-9 times = 8-6 sts left on needle. Cut the thread, pull through remaining sts and fasten. |
