It’s beautiful but is the jumper boxy fit?
25.12.2023 - 15:27DROPS Design answered:
Dear Kelly, you can see the measurements of the jumper in cm in the size chart. This pattern has a lot of ease/ it's oversized, but depending on the type of fit that you want you can make one size or another. Happy crochetting!

Crocheted jumper with bobbles in DROPS Air. Size: S - XXXL
DROPS 205-12 |
||||||||||||||||
---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- CHAIN STITCH TIP: It is important not to work the chain stitches at the beginning of piece to tightly, use a larger crochet hook if the edge is too tight. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.10. Not all diagrams are used in all sizes. BOBBLE - WORK 5 TRIPLE TREBLE CROCHETS TOGETHER: Work 1 triple treble crochet but wait with last pull through= 2 loops on hook. Work 4 triple treble crochets the same way = 6 loops on hook. Make 1 yarn over on hook and pull through all loops on hook. Tighten well before continuing. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 treble crochet by working 2 treble crochets together as follows: Work 1 treble crochet but wait with last yarn over and pull through, work 1 treble crochet more the same way. Make 1 yarn over and pull through all loops on hook(= 1 treble crochet decreased). ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Worked back and forth in several pieces and sewn together when finished. BACK PIECE: Work 70-76-82-88-96-104 loose chain stitches with hook size 5 mm and Air – if the chain stitches are not loose enough the piece will contract at the edge – read CHAIN STITCH TIP in explanation above. Work diagrams A.1-A.4 as follows from right side: Work A.1 over 1-1-1-1-1-1 stitch, work A.2 over 0-2-0-2-2-2 stitches, work A.3 until 1 stitch remains (= 17-18-20-21-23-25 times) and work A.4 over 1 stitch. Work diagrams 1 time vertically. Continue to work according diagrams A.5-A.10 as follows from right side: SIZE S: Work diagram A.5 over 1 stitch, work diagram A.6 over 1 stitch, work diagram A.7 over 1 stitch, work diagram A.8 until 3 stitches remain (= 8 times), work diagram A.6 over 2 stitches and work diagram A.10 over 1 stitch. SIZE M: Work diagram A.5 over 1 stitch, work diagram A.6 over 1 stitch, work diagram A.8 until 2 stitches remain (= 9 times), work diagram A.6 over 1 stitch and work diagram A.10 over 1 stitch. SIZE L: Work diagram A.5 over 1 stitch, work diagram A.9 until 1 stitch remains (= 10 times) and work diagrams A.10 over 1 stitch. SIZE XL: Work diagram A.5 over 1 stitch, work diagram A.6 over 2 stitches, work diagram A.7 over 1 stitch, work diagram A.8 until 4 stitches remain (= 10 times), work diagram A.6 over 3 stitches and work diagram A.10 over 1 stitch. Size XXL: Work diagram A.5 over 1 stitch, work diagram A.6 over 2 stitches, work diagram A.7 over 1 stitch, work diagram A.8 until 4 stitches remain (= 11 times), work diagram A.6 over 3 stitches and work diagram A.10 over 1 stitch. SIZE XXXL: Work diagram A.5 over 1 stitch, work diagram A.6 over 2 stitches, work diagram A.7 over 1 stitch, work diagram A.8 until 4 stitches remain (= 12 times), work diagram A.6 over 3 stitches and work diagram A.10 over 1 stitch. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! Continue to work until piece measures 38-39-40-41-42-43 cm in total. READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SECTION BEFORE CONTINUING! Do not work over the outermost 2-2-3-3-3-3 stitches in each side – sew in sleeves here later. Cut the yarn and begin next row by working in the 3rd-3rd-4th-4th-4th-4th stitch in from the side and stop when 2-2-3-3-3-3 stitches remain on row = 66-72-76-82-90-98 stitches. NOTE: Make sure to continue bobble pattern as before on top of each other. Work as before until piece measures 48-50-52-54-56-58 cm. Bobbles are no longer worked, replace 1 bobble with 1 treble crochet. Work treble crochets until piece measures approx. 52-54-56-58-60-62 cm (4 cm remain until finished measurements). The middle 20-20-22-22-24-24 treble crochets are no longer worked (= neck) = 23-26-27-30-33-37 treble crochets on each shoulder. Work 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet AT THE SAME TIME on first row from right side decrease 1 treble crochet towards the neck, read DECREASE TIP. Repeat decrease on next row from right side (= 2 decreases in total) = 21-24-25-28-31-35 treble crochets. Work until piece measures 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm in total. Work the other shoulder the same way. FRONT PIECE: Work as back piece until piece measures 48-50-52-54-56-58 cm. Bobbles are no longer worked, replace 1 bobble with 1 treble crochet. Work until piece measures approx. 51-53-55-57-59-61 cm (6 cm remain until finished measurements). The middle 18-18-20-20-22-22 treble crochets are no longer worked (= neck) = 24-27-28-31-34-38 treble crochets on each shoulder. Work 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet AT THE SAME TIME on first row from right side decrease 1 treble crochet towards the neck, read DECREASE TIP. Repeat decrease the next 2 rows from right side (= 3 decreases in total) = 21-24-25-28-31-35 treble crochets. Work until piece measures 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm in total. Work the other shoulder the same way. SLEEVES: Work 52-54-56-58-62-66 loose chain stitches on hook size 5 and Air. Work 2-2-3-3-3-3 rows with treble crochets back and forth (sew body to sleeve here later). Then work treble crochets back and forth, but put every row together with 1 slip stitch in first treble crochet worked on row and turn piece (so that texture is the same the entire sleeve and to avoid sewing together at the end). Work until piece measures 20-19-18-17-15-13 cm in total (approx. 34 cm remain until finished measurements for all sizes). Now increase 2 treble crochets on the under side of sleeve, increase by working 2 treble crochets inside first and last treble crochet on row (= 2 treble crochets increased). Repeat increase every 3rd row 8 times in total = 68-70-72-74-78-82 stitches. Work until piece measures 48-47-46-45-43-41 cm (NOTE! shorter measurements in the larger sizes because of wider shoulders). On next row decrease by working 2 and 2 treble crochets together entire row = 34-35-36-37-39-41 stitches. Work 1 more row and decrease 6-7-4-5-3-5 stitches evenly = 28-28-32-32-36-36 stitches. Now work an edge at the bottom of sleeve as follows from right side: Work 3 chain stitches (= replace 1st treble crochet), work 1 treble crochet around next treble crochet from front of piece, * work 1 treble crochet around each of the 2 next treble crochets from back of piece, work 1 treble crochet around each of the next 2 treble crochet from front of piece *, work from *-* the entire round. Continue to work like this until edge measures approx. 4 cm, sleeve measures approx. 54-53-52-51-49-47 cm. Cut and fasten the yarn. Work another sleeve the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulder seams edge to edge to avoid a chunky seam. Sew in sleeves – the section worked back and forth at the top of sleeve is fastened to front/back piece where armholes were made. Sew side seams. NECK EDGE: Work an edge around the entire neck opening, begin from right side at the shoulder. Work approx. 76-76-80-80-84-84 half treble crochets along edge round the entire neck opening (number of stitch must be divisible by 4) and finish round with 1 slip stitch in first stitch. Work 3 chain stitches (= replace 1st treble crochet), work 1 treble crochet around next half treble crochet from front of piece, * work 1 treble crochet around each of the 2 next half treble crochets from back of piece, work 1 treble crochet around each of the next 2 half treble crochet from front of piece *, work from *-* the entire round. Work 1 more round the same way. Cut and fasten the yarn. |
