How to crochet a relief pattern (aka raised crochet)

In this DROPS video we show how to crochet a relief pattern (aka raised crochet).

You can create a relief texture on a crochet piece by working in the front and back post of a stitch. In this video we are crocheting every other stitch as a normal tr, and every other st as a relief tr. Start with a row of regular tr. On next row we are working "1 tr, 1 relief tr in front post", on 3rd row we are working the relief sts in the back post. This creates a rib texture on the right side.

First we easy show how to crochet a chain stitch rings with 8 chain stitches and 1 slip stitch, that later will be put together to a cable. We work treble crochet between the chain stitch rings. Then we show how to crochet the chain stitch rings together so it becomes a cable. At the end we show how to work the cables with a slip stitch so it fastened to the round with treble crochet.
