Hello Regarding drops 204-30, why does the pattern say work, for example, A.1 4-4 times? Why not simply 4 times? I dont understand the hyphen, and second 4. Thank you

Dear Rhonda, this pattern is given in 2 sizes, first number applies to the first size and 2nd number to 2nd size. Sometimes, the numbers are the same, but to avoid confusion, both numers are written. Happy knitting!

NECK WARMER: Cast on 128-128 stitches with circular needle size 4.5 mm and 2 strands Kid-Silk or 1 strand Brushed Alpaca Silk. Knit 1 round then work pattern in the round as follows: Work A.1 (= 32 stitches) a total of 4-4 times on the round. When A.1 is finished there are 160-160 stitches on the needle. Change to circular needle size 5 mm and continue in the round as follows: Work A.2 (= 40 stitches) a total of 4-4 times on the round. A.2 is repeated in height. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Work until the piece measures approx. 43-47 cm – adjust to after round 2 or 6 in A.2. Change to circular needle size 4.5 mm and work A.3 (= 40 stitches) a total of 4-4 times on the round. After the first round in A.3 there are 128-128 stitches on the needle.
