Mvh DROPS Design

Hallo, Question please on Eiken hat in Drops Baby Merino; I have recently made one in the color wheat. However, when I washed it in the wool cycle it stretched 2cm. Have tried putting it in the dryer in my sock bag on high heat to shrink it, but it keeps getting longer. How do I shrink it back to size? Please help! Thank you and Happy New Year! April
08.01.2025 - 06:58DROPS Design answered:
Dear April, remember that Baby Merino is superwashed, so you can wash it in the washmachine choose a gentle cycle 40°C but do not use fabric softener and let drying flat. Your DROPS Store might have more tips for you, do not hesitate to contat them even per mail or telephone. Happy knitting!

Hi! In doing the decrease in A1 beginning with row 5, I’m not clear on the decrease.. It says to P2tog twisted. However on row 6, there are 2 purl stitches but only 1 knit stitch. I would have expected there to be only 1 purl and 2 knit stitches remaining as a result. Are you purling 1p and 1k stitch together instead so you get that the remaining 2p and 1k? Thank you!
17.03.2024 - 18:12DROPS Design answered:
Dear April, the purpose of the decreases is to slowly decrease the middle knit sections in order to merge the purl sections and form larger purl sections. Therefore, even though you purled together the 2 purl stitches you will purl over the first knit stitch after the decreased stitches, so you will have p2, k1. Happy knitting!

Mvh Jette
06.01.2023 - 12:07DROPS Design answered:

INFORMATION FOR THE PATTERN: PATTERN: See diagram A.1. ---------------------------------------------------------- HAT: The piece is worked in the round with short circular needle, bottom up. Change to double pointed needles when necessary. Cast on 128 stitches with short circular needle size 3.5 mm and Karisma. Work rib (= knit 2 / purl 2) until the piece measures 20 cm. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! The next round is worked as follows: * A.1 (= 30 stitches), purl 2 *, repeat from *-* a total of 4 times. Continue rib in this way and decrease as shown in A.1 – AT THE SAME TIME on the last round in A.1 purl 2 stitches together between each A.1 = 20 stitches left on the needle. Knit 1 round where all stitches are knitted together 2 and 2 = 10 stitches. Cut the strand, pull it through the remaining stitches, pull tight and fasten well. The hat measures approx. 29 cm from the top down. Turn up an edge of approx. 5-7 cm at the bottom of the hat. |
