Bonne continuation!

Hello I would like to make this pattern, but I don’t like knitting to diagram. Have you a full written version of the pattern? Thank you for your help
24.02.2021 - 17:51DROPS Design answered:
Dear Connie, unfortunately we cannot give you a written out pattern, not only because our patterns are available at a number of languages, but also, because we believe that when one uses a pattern s/he can see not only the very next step, the very next stitch but also how the stitches in a row, and how rows relate to each other. We do have a lesson on how to follow a diagram here, and if you still find it difficult, you can always ask for help in person, or over the phone in the store where you bought your DROPS yarn from. Happy Knitting!

Hello! I am a fairly new knitter. What is the purpose of 2 strands verses 1 strand?
23.08.2020 - 16:54DROPS Design answered:
Hi Debbie, The 2 strands give you a thicker blanket and a tighter weave. Happy knitting!

I believe your description of row 9, square A, posted 14.09.2017 is incorrect — you seem to have added a yarn over that is not on the chart, and omitted the slip 1, k2 together, pass slipped stitch over that occurs between A.1A and A.1B.

Bonjour.
Bon tricot!

INFORMATION FOR PATTERN: GARTER STITCH (back and forth): 1 ridge = knit 2 rows. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.3. Diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from the right side. A.4 shows how squares are put together. ---------------------------------------------------------- BLANKET: Blanket consists of 12 squares that are sewn together at the end. SQUARE A: Cast on 55 stitches on needle size 5 mm with 1 strand off white + 1 strand light pearl grey (= 2 strands). Work 3 ridges in GARTER STITCH back and forth - see explanation above! Work next row as follows from right side: 3 edge stitches in garter stitch, work A.1A (= 12 stitches), work A.1B over the next 24 stitches (= 2 repetitions of 12 stitches), work A.1C (= 13 stitches) and finish with 3 edge stitches in garter stitch. Continue pattern like this. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures approx. 30 cm, adjust after one hole or half repetition in height, work 3 ridges back and forth over all stitches. Cast off knitting from right side. Square measures approx. 32 x 32 cm. Work 4 squares in total. SQUARE B: Cast on 55 stitches on needle size 5 mm with 2 strands off white. Work 3 ridges. Work next row as follows from right side: 3 edge stitches in garter stitch, work A.2A (= 3 stitches), work A.2B over the next 42 stitches (= 7 repetitions of 6 stitches), work A.2C (= 4 stitches) and finish with 3 edge stitches in garter stitch. Continue pattern like this. When piece measures approx. 30 cm, adjust after one hole or half repetition in height and adjust according to measurement of square A, work 3 ridges back and forth over all stitches. Cast off knitting from right side. Square measures approx. 32 x 32 cm. Work 4 squares in total. SQUARE C: Cast on 55 stitches on needle size 5 mm with 2 strands light pearl grey. Work 3 ridges. Work next row as follows from right side: 3 edge stitches in garter stitch, work A.3 over the next 49 stitches (= 7 repetitions of 7 stitches), and finish with 3 edge stitches in garter stitch. Continue pattern like this. When piece measures approx. 30 cm, adjust after one hole or half repetition in height and adjust according to measurement of square A and B, work 3 ridges back and forth over all stitches. Cast off knitting from right side. Square measures approx. 32 x 32 cm. Work 4 squares in total. ASSEMBLY: Place squares as shown in A.4. Sew squares together with 1 strand light pearl grey - sew edge to edge in outer loops of edge stitches so that the seam is flat. Make sure that to avoid a tight seam. Fasten off. |
