Bon tricot !

Gauge: 22 sts x 30 rows on larger needles in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm. Rib: * K 2, P 2 *, repeat from * - *. Pattern: See chart. The pattern is seen from the right side. Arrows indicate the center front, center back and sides on the chart. Midt foran = center front Midt bak = center back Siden = sides Tips: When it doesn't say how sts are bound off for shoulders, they are just bound off as usual by working 2 sts and then slip the first one over the second and so on. SHOULDER WARMER Cast on 352 sts on smaller circular needles; join and place a marker at the join. Knit Rib for 3 cm. Change to larger circular needles and work Pattern 1 over all sts (see chart). Put markers at center front, center back and at each side (see arrow in chart for positioning) - 4 markers total. When the piece measures 29 cm put the 19 sts at each side of each side marker (38 sts per side) on st holders. Work each piece separately. Front piece: = 138 sts. Continue with pattern and at the same time dec sts at each side for shoulder shaping and later also at the same time bind off and dec for the neck. Note - read both sections for bind off for shoulders, and bind off for neck before knitting: Bind off for shoulders: It's a total of 10 dec/bind offs for shoulders each side. On first row from RS after the side sts are put on holder, dec 3 sts over the next cable by K2 tog 3 times over the 6 sts. On next row from RS bind off 5 sts in beg of row, and repeat in other side in beg of next row from WS - read Tips above. On next row from RS: dec 2 sts over the little cable by K2 tog 2 times over the 4 sts. On next row from RS: bind off 6 sts in beg of row, and repeat in other side in beg of next row from WS. On next row from RS: dec 3 sts over the first half of next cable by K2 tog 3 times over the first 6 sts. (Now dec for neck starts - read Bind off for neck). On next row from RS: bind off 5 sts in beg of row, and repeat in other side in beg of next row from WS. On next row from RS: dec each side 3 sts over the last half of next cable that now is farthest out in each side by K2 tog 3 times over 6 sts. On next row from RS: bind off 5 sts in beg of row, and repeat in other side in beg of next row from WS. On next row from RS: dec each side 2 sts over the last little cable before neck by K2 tog 2 times over 4 sts. On next row bind off rem sts. Bind off for neck: When piece measure approx 32 cm/12½" (5 shoulder dec remain) dec 12 sts evenly over the mid 36 sts. O next row bind off the mid 24 sts and work each side separately. Continue bind off on every row starting from neck: 3 sts 2 times and then 2 sts 3 time. When all sts are bound off piece measures approx 34 cm/13½" at the longest. Back piece: = 138 sts. Continue cast on for shoulders as on front but don't bind off for neck. When 2 dec remain on dec for shoulders on next row dec 20 sts evenly over the mid 60 sts. On next row bind off the mid 40 sts and finish each side separately. Sides/shoulder pieces: Put the 38 sts from the st holder on needles. Cast on 1 new st at each side for seam allowance (do not knit these sts in pattern) = 40 sts. Continue with pattern over 38 sts, with 1 garter st (edge st) at each side for approx. 16 cm - measure to match front up to the neck. When the side is 2 rows less than long enough, dec 12 sts evenly distributed across the row = 28 sts. On the next row bind off all sts. Assembly: Sew sides to body. Neck: Pick up 108 - 112 sts (divisible by 4) on smaller double-pointed needles; join and place a marker at the join. Knit 1 row, then rib for 10 cm. Bind off loosely in rib. |
