BUTTONHOLES: Dec for buttonholes on right band. 1 buttonhole = K tog third and fourth st from edge and make 1 YO. Dec for buttonholes when piece measures: SIZE S: 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36 and 42 cm SIZE M: 7, 13, 19, 25, 31, 37 and 44 cm SIZE L: 7, 13, 20, 26, 33, 39 and 46 cm SIZE XL: 6, 13, 20, 27, 34, 41 and 47 cm SIZE XXL: 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42 and 50 cm SIZE XXXL: 6, 14, 21, 29, 36, 44 and 51 cm ---------------------------------------------------------- BACK PIECE: Worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 59-65-71-77-83-89 sts (incl 1 edge st in each side) on circular needle size 8 mm with 2 strands Brushed Alpaca Silk. Work rib as follows: 1 edge st in GARTER ST - see explanation above, * K 3, P 3 *, repeat from *-* until 4 sts remain, K 3, 1 edge st in garter st. When piece measures 5 cm, work in garter st while AT THE SAME TIME on 1st row dec 3-3-5-5-5-5 sts evenly = 56 62-66-72-78-84 sts remain. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION When piece measures 37-38-39-40-41-42 cm, cast off 3 sts in each side for armhole = 50-56-60-66-72-78 sts. When piece measures 51-53-55-57-59-61 cm, cast off the middle 16-16-16-18-18-18 sts for neck and finish each shoulder separately. Continue to cast off 1 st on next row from neck = 16-19-21-23-26-29 sts. Cast off when piece measures 53-55-57-59-61-63 cm. Work the other shoulder. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 34-34-40-40-46-46 sts (incl 3 band sts and 1 edge st in the side) on circular needle size 8 mm with 2 strands Brushed Alpaca Silk. Work as follows: 3 band sts in garter st, rib = K 3/P 3, 1 edge st in garter st. When piece measures 5 cm, work in garter st while AT THE SAME TIME on 1st row dec 3-0-4-1-4-1 sts evenly = 31-34-36-39-42-45 sts remain. Remember BUTTONHOLES - see explanation above. When piece measures 37-38-39-40-41-42 cm, cast off 3 sts at beg of next row from WS = 28-31-33-36-39-42 sts. When piece measures 42-44-46-47-49-51 cm, cast off for neck at the beg of every row from RS as follows: 9 sts 1 time, then cast off 2 sts 1 time and 1 st 1-1-1-2-2-2 times = 16-19-21-23-26-29 sts. Cast off when piece measures 53-55-57-59-61-63 cm. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Cast on and work as right front piece but reversed. Cast off for armhole at beg of row from RS, and cast off for neck at beg of row from WS. Do not dec for buttonholes on left band. SLEEVE: Worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 26-26-26-32-32-32 sts (incl 1 edge st in each side) on circular needle size 8 mm with 2 strands Brushed Alpaca Silk. Work rib K 3/P 3 with 1 edge st in garter st in each side. When rib measures 4 cm, work in stocking st with 1 edge st in garter st in each side while AT THE SAME TIME adjusting no of sts on 1st row to 25-26-28-28-30-30. When piece measures 7 cm, inc 1 st in each side of piece. Repeat inc every 8-6½-6½-5½-5-4 cm 5-6-6-7-7-8 more times = 37-40-42-44-46-48 sts. Cast off when piece measures 51-50-49-48-46-44 cm (shorter measurements in the larger sizes because of wider shoulders). Knit another sleeve the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew right shoulder seam. NECK EDGE: Worked back and forth on circular needle. Pick up from RS approx. 50-56 sts around the neck on circular needle size 8 mm with 2 strands Brushed Alpaca Silk. Work rib = K 3/P 3 with 1 edge st in garter st in each side while AT THE SAME TIME adjusting no of sts on 1st row to 50-50-50-56-56-56. Cast off with K over K and P over P when rib measures approx. 2 cm. ASSEMBLY: Sew left shoulder seam and neck edge. Sew in sleeves. Sew underarm and side seams inside 1 edge st. ---------------------------------------------------------- HAT: Work back and forth on row, work edge at the bottom with 2 strands, then work the rest of hat with 1 strand. Cast on 64 sts on needle size 7 mm with 2 strands Brushed Alpaca Silk (knitting tension should be the same as when working with 1 strand). Work in GARTER ST - see explanation above - for 6 cm. Work next row as follows from WS: Cast off the first 32 sts on row, work the rest of row. Work next row as follows from RS: Work 32 sts, twist the last part of piece and pick up 1 st in every st from cast-on edge on piece = 64 sts on row. Continue in garter st over all sts but now work only with 1 strand. When piece measures 14 cm, dec 8 sts evenly. Repeat dec when piece measures 18 cm = 48 sts. When piece measures 20 cm, dec 16 sts evenly. Repeat dec when piece measures 22 cm = 16 sts. When piece measures 24 cm, K all sts tog 2 by 2 = 8 sts. Cut the yarn and pull it through sts, tighten tog and fasten. Sew hat tog mid back. ---------------------------------------------------------- SCARF: Cast on 35 sts on needle size 7 mm with 1 strand Brushed Alpaca Silk. Work in GARTER ST - see explanation above. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION Cast off when piece measures approx. 150 cm. FRINGES: Fasten fringes along the entire cast-on and cast-off edge as follows: 1 fringe = cut 3 lengths Brushed Alpaca Silk of 40 cm each. Place them double, thread loop through first st in cast-off edge, pull edge through loop. Repeat in approx. every 3rd st along the entire edge. Cut fringes to a length of approx. 18 cm. |
