Thank you so much for answering me. Your explanation makes up for 2 stitches. I am still 2 stitches short, because for the S size the pattern says I need to decrease 13 times, not 14. Also: how fast can one ask a second question? If I am actually working on a project...like I am now...getting more explanations could be very important. Thank you

Dear Yarnia, under sleeve pattern (UK-English), you can read: Repeat inc every 3-2½-2½-2-2-2 cm 13-16-14-17-17-19 more times = 76-... sts, this means you increase the first time when piece measures 7-6-8-8-8-7 cm then 13 more times (in size S) this makes a total of 14 times. Happy knitting!

My question concerns the numbers for the sleeves, size S: so we start increasing from 46 st, 2 st per row, 13 times; this gives us 26 st extra, which added to the 46 we started with, should take us to 72, not 76. Am I missing something? Thank you!
08.11.2023 - 18:58DROPS Design answered:
Dear Yarnia, you start with 46 sts but on the first row after the 2 ridges, you will increase 2 sts = 48 sts. You then increase 2 sts a total of 14 times (the first increase as explained + 13 more times) = 48+28= 76 sts. Happy knitting!

Jakke. str XXXl 363 masker inklusiv 12 masker kantm.
27.03.2019 - 11:01DROPS Design answered:
Hei Ingelise. A.1 og A.3 strikkes i hver sin side av A.2, rett før/etter stolpen. A.2 gjentas rundt resten av jakken.

Quindi 8x14 =112 m. In tutto 152 m diminuite. Rimangono 340-152= 188 m. Buon lavoro!

BODY: Cast on 237-265-279-307-335-363 sts (incl 6 band sts in each side of piece) on circular needle size 3 mm with BabyAlpaca Silk. Work 2 ridges in GARTER ST - see explanation above - over all sts. Then work as follows from RS: 6 band sts in garter st, A.1 (= 5 sts), A.2 (= 14 sts) 15-17-18-20-22-24 times in width, A.3 (= 10 sts), finish with 6 band sts in garter st. Work band sts in garter st until finished measurements. REMEMBER BUTTONHOLES ON RIGHT BAND - see explanation above. When A.1-A.3 have been worked 1 time vertically, there are 205-229-241-265-289-313 sts on needle. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION On next row from RS, dec 17-17-13-13-13-13 sts evenly (NOTE: Do not dec over band sts) = 188-212-228-252-276-300 sts. Piece measures approx. 21-21-21-21-24-24 cm. Continue in stocking st. Insert 1 marker 50-56-60-66-72-78 sts in from each side (= 88-100-108-120-132-144 sts on back piece and 50-56-60-66-72-78 sts on each front piece). When piece measures 25-25-25-25-28-28 cm, inc 1 st on next row from RS on each side of both markers (= 4 sts inc) – see INCREASE TIP. Repeat inc every 1-2-1-1-1-1 cm 4-2-4-4-4-4 more times = 208-224-248-272-296-320 sts. There are now 86-94-106-118-130-142 sts on back piece and 49-53-59-65-71-77 sts on each front piece. Put piece aside and knit the sleeves. SLEEVE: Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 46-46-50-52-56-58 sts on double pointed needles size 3 mm with BabyAlpaca Silk. Work 2 ridges in GARTER ST - see explanation above. On next round, K and inc 2-2-6-4-4-2 sts evenly = 48-48-56-56-60-60 sts. Then work A.4 (= 12-12-14-14-12-12 sts) 4-4-4-4-5-5 times in total in width. When A.4 has been worked 1 time vertically, continue in stocking st. Insert 1 marker at the beg of the round. When piece measures 7-6-8-8-8-7 cm, inc 1 st on each side of marker (= mid under sleeve). Repeat inc every 3-2½-2½-2-2-2 cm 13-16-14-17-17-19 more times = 76-82-86-92-96-100 sts. When piece measures 48-48-47-47-47-47 cm (shorter measurements in the larger sizes because of longer sleeve cap and wider shoulders), cast off 12 sts mid under sleeve = 64-70-74-80-84-88 sts. Put piece aside and knit another sleeve. YOKE: Slip sleeves on to same circular needle as body where armholes were cast off = 312-340-372-408-440-472 sts. Insert 1 marker in all transitions between sleeves and body (= 4 markers). Continue in stocking st AT THE SAME TIME on next row from RS dec for RAGLAN – see explanation above as follows: Dec every 4th row (i.e. every other row from RS) 7-5-3-0-0-0 times, then every other row (i.e. every row from RS) 8-14-20-27-29-30 times. After all dec for raglan 192-188-188-192-208-232 sts remain on needle. P 1 row from WS, K 1 row from RS AT THE SAME TIME dec 35-31-27-31-43-67 sts evenly (NOTE: Do not dec over band sts) = 157-157-161-161-165-165 sts. Then work PATTERN-1 - see explanation above. Work 2 ridges. Then loosely cast off all sts. ASSEMBLY: Sew the openings under the sleeves. Sew the buttons on to the left band. |
