J'aimerais faire le modèle DROPS 76-5 avec la laine Drops Clouds puisque la Highlander est discontinuée. Je voudrais faire la grandeur Medium. Combien de balles de laine Clouds je dois acheter? Merci I would like to knit the DROPS 76-5 with DROPS Clouds quality as the Highlander is discontinued. I would make it in size Medium. How many balls would it take in Clouds? Thank you

You could try the shop "Stickor o garn" in Sweden. They have 5 balls left.

I have knitted the front, back and one sleeve, and now have run out of wool. I ordered the amount specified in the pattern, and the tension is correct. The problem is that the wool - Drops Eskimo tweed in silver - has now been discontinued and I have contacted nearly every wool shop in the UK to find it, with no success. Do you have any suggestions? I would be grateful for any advice, as the jumper so far is lovely, but of course unwearable with only one sleeve.

I have two questions about this pattern 1. what does it mean when it says: "When the piece measures 14 and 24 cm inc 1 st ..." I don't understand what "14 and 24 cm" refers to. 2. what does "each side" and "every other row" mean? Thanks a lot

Dear Hamedeh, you inc 1 st each side (i.e. at beg + end of row) when piece measures 14 cm and repeat these inc when it measures 24 cm. Cast off for armhole every other 2 rows means to cast off at the beg of every row each side (from RS then from WS). Happy knitting!

Gauge: 9 sts x 14 rows = 10 x 10 cm on larger needles in stockinette st. Front: Cast on 38-44-50-56 sts on smaller needles and knit as follows: K 1 (edge st knit in garter st), * P 6-7-8-9, K 6-7-8-9 *, repeat from * - *, end with K 1 (edge st knit in garter st). When the piece measures 8 cm change to larger needles and stockinette st. When the piece measures 14 and 24 cm inc 1 st at each side = 42-48-54-60 sts. When the piece measures 33-34-35-36 cm bind off for armhole at each side every other row: 3 sts 1-1-1-2 times, 2 sts 0-1-2-2 times and 1 st 2-2-3-2 times = 32-34-34-36 sts. When the piece measures 48-50-51-53 cm bind off the center 8-10-10-10 sts for the neck. Then bind off at each neck edge every other row: 2 sts 1 time and 1 st 1 time = 9-9-9-10 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 54-56-58-60 cm. Back: Cast on and knit the same as the front. Bind off for armhole as on front and continue until the piece measures 52-54-56-58 cm. Now bind off the center 12-14-14-14 sts for the neck. On the next row dec 1 st at each neck edge = 9-9-9-10 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 54-56-58-60 cm. Sleeve: Cast on 26-26-30-30 sts on smaller needles and knit as follows: K1 (edge st knit in garter st), * K 6-6-7-7, P 6-6-7-7 *, repeat from * - *, end with K 1 (edge st knit in garter st). When piece measures 12 cm change to larger needles and stockinette st. At the same time inc 1 st at each side every 9-6.5-7.5-5.5 cm a total of 5-6-5-6 times = 36-38-40-42 sts. When sleeve measures 50-48-45-43 cm bind off for sleeve cap at each side every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2-1-0-0 times, 1 st 1-3-7-9 times, then bind off 2 sts at each side until the piece measures 58-58-59-59 cm. Bind off the remaining sts. Assembly: sew right shoulder. Collar: Pick up 40 or 48 sts (divisible by 8) around the neck on smaller needles and knit rib (K 4, P 4). Place a K 4 at center front. When the collar measures 3 cm bind off all sts in rib. Sew left shoulder and up collar edge. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams using edge sts as a seam allowance. |
