"When piece measures 35-40 cm cast off for armhole" However the diagram shows the cast off at 23-25cm. Which one should it be? Thank you!

Hi Darcy, The 30-40 cm are measured from the cast-on edge, 23-25 cm measured from the rib. Happy knitting!

If the pattern is an 8 row repeat, why are there 10 rows in the graph? Also, if the graph is shown from the right side, are all the rows right-side-only, with wrong side rows purling all the way across? Or do RS rows read right to left and WS rows left to right? If this is the case, does the X for knit become a purl stitch on the wrong side? I am SO confused - please, please help.
03.04.2019 - 21:35DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mary Lou, we'll update the diagram so that there are only 8 rows (= the first 8 rows). From RS K all sts with x and purl these sts from WS - from RS P all sts with an empty square and K them from WS. Happy knitting!

Hi! The steps for size M/L are confusing to me: 'Change to needle size 4.5 mm and continue in pattern as follows: size S/M: M.2, M.4, 3 repeats of M.1, M.2. Size M/L: 4 repeats of M.1, M.3.' Does that mean M4 is never used for size M/L? You only do M1,M3 4 times?

Dear Mrs Silva-Santisteban, the different parts of the diagram were framed the wrong way; a new diagram will be soon uploaded. Happy knitting!

Tak.

Rib: * K2, P2 *, repeat from *-*. Pattern: See diagram M.1-M.4. The diagram shows the pattern from the RS. 1 square = 1 st x 1 row 1 pattern repeat = 30 sts x 8 rows. Back piece: Worked back and forth on needle. Cast on 110-120 sts on needle size 3 mm and work 12-15 cm rib, at the same time inc 10-20 sts evenly on last row = 120-140 sts. Change to needle size 4.5 mm and continue in pattern as follows: size S/M: M.2, M.4, 3 repeats of M.1, M.2. Size M/L: 4 repeats of M.1, M.3. At the same time inc 1 st each side on every 6-8 row a total of 10-6 times = 140-152 sts. Incorporate the inc sts in pattern as you go along. When piece measures 35-40 cm cast off for armhole each side at the beg of every row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 1 time = 128-140 sts. When piece measures 61-66 cm cast off the middle 30-34 sts for neck and complete each side separately. Cast off 10 sts on neckline on next row and cast off remaining 39-43 sts on shoulder when piece measures 63-68 cm. Front piece: Cast on and work like back piece until piece measures 60-65 cm. Now cast off the middle 36-40 sts for neck and complete each side separately. Cast off to shape the neckline at the beg of every row from mid front: 4 sts 1 time, 3 sts 1 time and cast off remaining sts on shoulder as described for back piece. . Sleeve: Worked back and forth on needle. Cast on 44 sts on needle size 3 mm and work rib 6-8 cm rib, at the same time inc 36 sts evenly on last row = 80 sts. Change to needle size 4.5 mm and continue in pattern as follows: 2 repeats og M.1 across the row, M.3. At the same time inc 1 st each side on every 4th row 10 times and then on every other row 25 times = 150 sts. When piece measures 47-50 cm cast off to shape the sleeve cap each side at the beg of every row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2 times = 136 sts. Cast off when piece measures 50-53 cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx 110-116 sts on circular needle size 3 mm round neckline and work 6 cm rib, at the same time dec 2 sts on each shoulder on every 4th round 3 times, cast off. Sew side seams. Sew sleeve seams and set in sleeves. |
