Dear Pam, you will find the requested amount of yarn under the tab "Pattern" at the top of the page, this means you need here 300 g DROPS Paris/50 g a ball = 6 balls DROPS Paris. Happy crocheting!

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (when working in the round): Alternately knit 1 round and purl 1 round. 1 ridge vertically = 2 rounds. GARTER STITCH (when working back and forth): Knit on all rows, i.e. knit from right side and knit from wrong side. 1 ridge vertically = knit 2 rows. INCREASE TIP: Increase on a purl round, increase as follows: * Work 3 stitches, make 1 yarn over, work until 3 stitches remains before next marker thread, make 1 yarn over, work 3 stitches *, work from *-* 1 more time (= 4 stitches increased on round). On next round knit yarn over twisted to avoid holes. PATTERN: See diagram A.1. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- BAG – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Work piece in the round on circular needle, bottom up. Work a strap that is sewn together in the middle. BAG: Cast on 120 stitches on circular needle size 3.5 mm with DROPS Paris. Insert 1 marker thread at the beginning of round and 1 marker thread after 60 stitches (= in each side of bag), move the marker thread when working. Work in GARTER STITCH in the round - read explanation above - AT THE SAME TIME on 4th round increase on each side of both marker threads - read INCREASE TIP. Increase like this every 4th round 4 times in total = 136 stitches. Continue in garter stitch until 20 rounds (= 10 ridges) have been worked in total. Now work PATTERN - read explanation above, i.e. work A.1 in the round over all stitches. Remember to follow the knitting tension! Work until piece measures 31 cm. Work 3 cm ridges in the round over all stitches. On next round work a shoulder strap as follows: Work the first 5 stitches on round in garter stitch, cast off the next 58 stitches, use pointed needles size 3.5 mm and work in garter stitch back and forth over the next 10 stitches for shoulder strap (the other stitches are on the circular needle), cast off and cut the yarn when shoulder strap measures approx. 30 cm (= half a shoulder strap). Cast off the next 58 stitches on round, use pointed needles size 3.5 mm and work in garter stitch back and forth over the last 10 stitches for shoulder strap, cast off and cut the yarn when shoulder strap measures approx. 30 cm (= half a shoulder strap). ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulder straps together inside cast-off edge. Place the bag flat with marker threads in each side and sew the bottom together inside cast-on edge. |
