Hej Kirsten, du tager kun 1 maske ud ad gangen ialt 6 gange. 48+6=54 masker :)

The photos seen to show stockingette stitch all the way to the shoulder, but the instructions for the front side pieces say to knit on the right side and purl on the wrong for the last 2 rows, creating a contrasting ridge - is that correct? The top of the front piece then looks like: - - - - - - vvv
22.09.2024 - 15:48DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sue, you work stocking stitch the whole piece which, as is worked back and forth, means that you knit from the right side and purl from the wrong side. The only special thing is that the first row is a purl row from the wrong side, at the bottom of the piece (since the piece is worked from the bottom up). Happy knitting!

13.02.2024 - 13:16DROPS Design answered:
Hej Pia, ja du tager 1 m ud i den ene side og så 1 til ud efter 18 cm i den anden side :)

Hei!

Danke.

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- DECREASE TIP: All decreases are worked from the right side! Decrease 1 stitch at the end of the row: Work until there are 7 stitches left, knit 2 together (1 stitch decreased), knit 5. Decrease 1 stitch at the beginning of the row: Knit 5, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (1 stitch decreased), work to the end of the row as before. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JACKET – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The jacket is worked in sections, back and forth and bottom up, then sewn together. The whole jacket is worked with 3 strands. BACK PIECE: Cast on 52-56-60-66-70-78 stitches with circular needle size 8 mm and 1 strand DROPS Brushed Alpaca Silk, 1 strand DROPS Fabel colour candy and 1 strand DROPS Fabel colour country fair (3 strands). Work stocking stitch back and forth, with the first row from the wrong side. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the piece measures 33-34-35-36-37-38 cm, cast off 1-1-2-4-5-7 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows for the armholes = 50-54-56-58-60-64 stitches. When the piece measures 48-50-52-54-56-58 cm, cast off the middle 8-8-8-10-10-10 stitches for the neck and finish each shoulder separately (21-23-24-24-25-27 stitches on each shoulder). On the next row from the right side decrease 1 stitch for the neck – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this 1 more time on the next row from the right side = 19-21-22-22-23-25 stitches. Cast off with knit from the right side when the piece measures 52-54-56-58-60-62 cm. Work the other shoulder in the same way. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Cast on 31-33-35-38-40-44 stitches with circular needle size 8 mm and 1 strand DROPS Brushed Alpaca Silk, 1 strand DROPS Fabel colour candy and 1 strand DROPS Fabel colour country fair (3 strands). Work stocking stitch back and forth, with the first row from the wrong side. When the piece measures 28-28-28-29-30-31 cm, decrease for the V-neck at the end of the next row from the right side – read DECREASE TIP! Decrease like this every 6th row a total of 2-2-2-3-3-3 times, then every 4th row 6 times. AT THE SAME TIME when the piece measures 33-34-35-36-37-38 cm, cast off the first 1-1-2-4-5-7 stitches on the next row from the right side for the armhole. When the decreases are finished there are 22-24-25-25-26-28 stitches on the shoulder. When the piece measures 51-53-55-57-59-61 cm, knit 1 row from the right side and decrease 3 stitches evenly spaced = 19-21-22-22-23-25 stitches. Purl 1 row from the wrong side. Cast off with knit from the right side. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Cast on 31-33-35-38-40-44 stitches with circular needle size 8 mm and 1 strand DROPS Brushed Alpaca Silk, 1 strand DROPS Fabel colour candy and 1 strand DROPS Fabel colour country fair (3 strands). Work stocking stitch back and forth, with the first row from the wrong side. When the piece measures 28-28-28-29-30-31 cm, decrease for the V-neck at the beginning of the next row from the right side. Decrease like this every 6th row a total of 2-2-2-3-3-3 times, then every 4th row 6 times. AT THE SAME TIME when the piece measures 33-34-35-36-37-38 cm, cast off the first 1-1-2-4-5-7 stitches on the next row from the wrong side for the armhole. SLEEVES: Cast on 40-42-44-46-48-48 stitches with circular needle size 8 mm and 1 strand DROPS Brushed Alpaca Silk, 1 strand DROPS Fabel colour candy and 1 strand DROPS Fabel colour country fair (3 strands). Work stocking stitch back and forth, with the first row from the wrong side. When the sleeve measures 15 cm increase 1 stitch inside the edge stitch, at the beginning of the next row from the right side = 41-43-45-47-49-49 stitches. Increase like this every 18-18-18-18-18-6 cm, increasing alternately at the beginning and end of each row from the right side a total of 2-2-2-2-2-6 times = 42-44-46-48-50-54 stitches. Cast off with knit when the sleeve measures 49 cm. Work the other sleeve in the same way. ASSEMBLY: All seams use 1 strand DROPS Fabel. Sew the shoulder seams. Sew the sleeve seams leaving a split of 1-1-2-4-5-6 cm at the top. Sew the split to the bottom of the armhole – see sketch. Then sew the sleeves to the armholes. Sew the side seams – sew in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch so the seam is flat. |
