Hei!

Hei Claudia.

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- DECREASE TIP (= mid-back): Decrease every 8th round. From the beginning of the round: Knit 1, knit 2 together, work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker (= beginning of the round), slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, knit 1. STRIPES: Work the stripes as follows: * 1 round with brown, 1 round with forest *, work from *-*. KNITTING TIP (heel): To strengthen the heel work with 2 strands as follows: Work 1 stitch using the strand alternately from the outside and inside of the ball. This gives a slightly thicker heel without working with a double strand. HEEL DECREASES: ROW 1 (= right side): Knit until there are 7-8-8 stitches left, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, turn the piece. ROW 2 (= wrong side): Purl until there are 7-8-8 stitches left, slip 1 stitch as if to purl, purl 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the purled stitch, turn the piece. ROW 3 (= right side): Knit until there are 6-7-7 stitches left, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, turn the piece. ROW 4 (= wrong side): Purl until there are 6-7-7 stitches left, slip 1 stitch as if to purl, purl 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the purled stitch, turn the piece. Continue to decrease like this, working until there is 1 stitch less each time before slipping a stitch and until there are 14-14-16 stitches left on the needle. DECREASE TIP-2 (toe): Start 2 stitches before the marker, knit 2 together, marker, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (2 stitches decreased). ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- SOCKS – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked in the round with double pointed needles, top down and worked with stripes. SOCK: Cast on 72-76-80 stitches with double pointed needles size 3 mm and brown DROPS Fabel. Knit 1 round, then work rib (knit 1, purl 1) for 4 cm in all sizes. Knit 1 round and insert a marker at the beginning of the round = mid-back. Continue with STRIPES – read description above, AT THE SAME TIME on round 1 begin to decrease mid-back – read DECREASE TIP. Continue with stocking stitch and stripes and decrease every 8th round a total of 9 times = 54-58-62 stitches. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Work stripes until the piece measures 22 cm. Keep the first 13-14-15 stitches on the needle for the heel, place the next 28-30-32 stitches on 1 thread (= top of foot) and keep the last 13-14-15 stitches on the needle for the heel (= 26-28-30 heel-stitches). Work rib (knit 1, purl 1) back and forth over the heel-stitches, using forest, at the same time on the first row increase 5-5-7 stitches evenly spaced (= 31-33-37 heel-stitches). Work rib for 5-5½-6 cm, then on the last row decrease 5-5-7 stitches evenly spaced = 26-28-30 heel-stitches. Insert a marker in the middle of the last row; this is used to measure the foot-length. Continue with HEEL DECREASES using forest – read description above. After the heel decreases work the next round as follows – make sure you use the next colour from the last round on top of the foot, so the stripes continue alternately: Knit 14-14-16 heel-stitches, knit up 13-14-16 stitches along the side of the heel, place the 28-30-32 stitches from the thread back on the needle and knit these stitches, knit up 13-14-16 stitches along the other side of the heel and knit the half of the heel-stitches = 68-72-80 stitches. The beginning of the round is mid-under the foot. Insert 1 marker on each side of the 28-30-32 stitches on top of the foot. Continue the stripes as before – AT THE SAME TIME decrease on each side of the 28-30-32 stitches on top of the foot every 2nd round as follows: Knit twisted together the last 2 stitches before the first marker and knit together the first 2 stitches after the second marker (= 2 stitches decreased). Decrease a total of 8-8-10 times = 52-56-60 stitches. Continue with stripes until the foot measures 18-19-21 cm from the marker on the heel (there is approx. 4-5-6 cm left to finished length – adjust so the next round is worked with forest (try the sock on and work to desired length). Insert 1 marker in each side of the piece (with 26-28-30 stitches both on top of and underneath the foot). Continue with forest and decrease for the toe on each side of both markers – read DECREASE TIP-2 = 4 stitches decreased. Repeat the decrease every 2nd round a total of 4-7-9 times, then every round 5-3-2 times = 16 stitches left. On the next round knit all stitches together 2 and 2 = 8 stitches. Cut the strand, pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten well. Work 1 more sock in the same way. |
