Bon tricot!

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge vertically = knit 2 rows. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.6. KNITTING TIP: All numbers of stitches given when working English rib is without yarn overs, because yarn overs belongs to knit stitch and is counted together as 1 stitch. CAST-OFF TIP (applies to English rib): To avoid a tight cast-off edge cast off yarn over as a stitch. I.e. work yarn over as a stitch and then cast off as the other stitch. DECREASE TIP-1 (applies to V-neck right front piece): All decreases are done on 1 row from right side. Work 5 band stitches in garter stitch, then work 3 stitch and 2 yarn overs (= 5 stitches in total) together as follows: Slip first stitch and 1 yarn over loosely on to right needle knitwise, knit the next 2 stitches and 1 yarn over together, pass the 2 loose stitches (1 stitch and 1 yarn over) from right needle over stitches worked together (= 2 stitches decreased) DECREASE TIP-2 (applies to V-neck left front piece): All decreases are done on 1 row from right side. Work until 3 stitches and 2 yarn overs remain before the 5 band stitches, and knit these 3 stitches + yarn overs together (= 2 stitches decreased). INCREASE TIP (applies to sleeves): Work until 1 stitch remains before marker thread, 1 yarn over, knit 2 (marker thread is in the middle of these stitches), 1 yarn over. On next round knit yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. Then work the new stitches in stocking stitch. BUTTONHOLES (bottom up): Decrease for buttonholes on right band. 1 BUTTONHOLE = knit third and fourth stitch from edge together and make 1 yarn over. On next row knit yarn over = hole. Decrease for buttonholes when piece measures: S: 23, 32 and 41 cm M: 24, 33 and 42 cm L: 25, 34 and 43 cm XL: 26, 35 and 44 cm XXL: 27, 36 and 45 cm XXXL: 28, 37 and 46 cm ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- JACKET - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Work front and back piece separately back and forth on circular needle. Work sleeves in the round on double pointed needles/a short circular needle. On next row from right side, cast off the first 21-23-25-25-29-31 stitches for shoulder = 5 stitches remain for shawl collar.
