Was übersehe ich?

I love the shoes! Only I am confused: What is A.2 for? And the "Schaft 2"? Is that only an alternative to "Schaft 1"? In the video I can only see pattern A,1 being knitted.
02.02.2019 - 19:25DROPS Design answered:
Dear Anne, you have to work 2 different "Schaft", one for each slipper. Happy knitting!

Your patterns are always so hard to follow for beginners. It is discouraging when the writer assumes everyone can follow directions that are more like a conversation.

GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 rows K GARTER ST (in the round on double pointed needles): * K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*. 1 ridge = 2 rounds. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1-A.2. Diagrams show pattern seen from RS (1st row = WS). -------------------------------------------------------- SLIPPERS: Cast on 36-38-40 sts on double pointed needles size 6 mm with 2 strands Alaska. Work in GARTER ST in the round - see explanation above - until piece measures approx. 5 cm, finish after 1 round P. Now keep the first 9-11-11 sts on the round on the needle, slip the remaining 27-27-29 sts on 1 stitch holder. Continue in GARTER ST back and forth - see explanation above, over the 9-11-11 sts and cast on 1 new st in each side (edge st) = 11-13-13 sts (middle piece). When middle piece measures 7-8½-10 cm, dec 1 edge st in each side from RS = 9-11-11 sts. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION Pick up 12-14-16 sts inside 1 edge st along side of middle piece, slip sts from stitch holder back on double pointed needles and work these sts, then pick up 12-14-16 sts inside 1 edge st along the other side of middle piece = 60-66-72 sts on needle. Now measure piece from here. Insert 1 marker mid front of toe and 1 marker mid back on heel. Work in the round in garter st. When piece measures 2 cm, K 2 sts tog on each side of every marker on every other round (= 4 sts less per decrease round) continue dec until piece measures 5-5-6 cm. Cast off, fold piece double and sew tog in cast-off edge (= mid under foot). Sew in outer loops of edge sts to avoid a chunky seam. Knit another slipper the same way. LOOSE LEG WORKED ACROSS: Work 2 loose legs that are sew at the top of slippers at the end. Leg 1: Cast on 15 sts on needle size 6 mm with 2 strands Alaska. K 2 rows. On next row work as follows: 2 sts in garter st, P 2, * K 1, 1 YO *, repeat from *-* 3 times in total (= 3 sts inc), finish with P 2 and 6 sts in garter st = 18 sts. Work next row according to diagram A.1 (1st row in diagram = WS, i.e. read diagram from left to right), P YOs from previous row twisted to avoid holes. Continue working according to A.1 until piece measures approx. 31-33-35 cm, adjust to work at least 1 row in stocking st after last cable, on next row from RS K sts tog 2 by 2 over cable = 15 sts. K 2 rows and cast off with K from WS. Sew cast-off and cast-on edge tog with small stitches. Leg 2: Cast on 15 sts on needle size 6 mm with 2 strands Alaska. K 2 rows. On next row work as follows: 6 sts in garter st, P 2, * K 1, 1 YO *, repeat from *-* 3 times in total (= 3 sts inc), finish with P 2 and 2 sts in garter st = 18 sts. Work next row according to diagram A.2 (1st row in diagram = WS, i.e. read diagram from left to right), P YOs from previous row twisted to avoid holes. Continue working according to A.2 until piece measures approx. 31-33-35 cm, adjust to work at least 1 row in stocking st after last cable, on next row from RS K sts tog 2 by 2 over cable = 15 sts. K 2 rows and cast off with K from WS. Sew cast-off and cast-on edge tog with small stitches. ASSEMBLY: Sew the loose legs to the slippers, pull leg approx. 1 cm down on outside of slipper (the side with most sts in garter st should face down). Fasten with small stitches from the inside. Make sure that seam is mid back. |
