What do you mean by " Continue to displace K 2 tog and dec like this every other round 8-9- more times = 16 sts remain on needle. " at the hat instruction? Do we k3 tog instead of k2 tog?
18.12.2018 - 07:25DROPS Design answered:
Hi Ayse. "decrease like this", means you'll continue with K 2 tog, but do not make YO after the first K 2 tog. You work like so: K 2 tog, K 2 tog, 1 YO, K the remaining sts, then you K 1 round over all sts. This way you dec 1 sts in each repeat of A.1 every other round. At the same time you continue to displace the K 2 tog as before to maintain the pattern. Happy knitting

Hei!

Buon lavoro!

When you say that the diagram doesn't match vertically, do you mean I have to watch at the work to match the holes, and not any more at the diagram? Then, when thnree stitches are k together, and afterwards, when there is only one YO, the holes don't go laterally any more, but vertically: did I do a mistake, or is it the pattern? It looks nice, anyway.Thank you
22.03.2016 - 17:22DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Cevolani, when you have worked diagram 1 time in height, you have to continue holes diagonally as before, and not repeat diagram from first round. Happy knitting!

Knitted DROPS neck warmer and hat with lace pattern in ”Lima”.
DROPS 156-46 |

PATTERN: See diagrams A.1-A.2. See diagrams for correct size. NOTE: Diagrams do not fit vertically when repeated but eyelet rows are continued diagonally upwards as before. GARTER ST (in the round on circular needle): * K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*. 1 ridge = 2 rounds. ---------------------------------------------------------- HAT: Worked in the round on circular needle, switch to double pointed needles when needed. Cast on 96-104 sts with Lima on circular needle size 4 mm. Work 4 rounds in stocking st. Work next round as follows: * K 1, P 1 *, repeat from *-* the entire round. Then work A.1 - see explanation above - 8 times in width. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 15-16 cm, dec 1 st in every repetition of A.1 by K 3 tog instead of K 2 tog at beg of diagram (= 8 sts dec) = 88-96 sts. Every repetition now goes over 11-12 sts. When piece measures 19-20 cm, continue with K 2 tog, but do not make YO after the first K 2 tog, i.e. 1 repetition is worked as follows: K 2 tog, K 2 tog, 1 YO, K the remaining sts (= 8 sts dec) = 80-88 sts on needle. K 1 round over all sts. Continue to displace K 2 tog and dec like this every other round 8-9- more times = 16 sts remain on needle. On next round K all sts tog 2 by 2. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten. The hat measures approx. 25-27 cm vertically. ---------------------------------------------------------- NECK WARMER: Worked in the round on circular needle. Cast on 120-132 sts with Lima on circular needle size 4 mm. Work 2 ridges in GARTER ST - see explanation above. Then work A.2 (= 12 sts) - see explanation above, 10-11 times in width. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Continue pattern like this. When piece measures 12-15 cm, dec 1 st in every repetition of A.2 by K 3 tog instead of K 2 tog at beg of diagram (= 10-11 sts dec) = 110-121 sts. Every repetition now goes over 11 sts. When piece measures 17-21 cm, work 2 ridges over all sts. Cast off. Piece measures approx. 18-22 cm. |
