DROPS socks in double thread “Fabel.
DROPS 106-17 |
|
Garter st, in the round: K 1 round, P 1 round. Heel: Work 1 row on heel sts and continue in stocking st, at the same time put 1 st on a thread at the end of every row. Continue until there are 5-6-7 sts on the thread each side of heel = 6-6-6 sts left on needle. Insert a Marking Thread (MT) in piece (to measure from). Continue in stocking st, but on every row work 1 st from thread back on needle. NB! To avoid a hole in transition pick up 1 st between row and thread, and K tog the 2 new sts on return row. Continue until there are 16-18-20 sts on row again. Work 1 row on all sts. Sock: Knitted in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 44-48-52 sts on needle size 5 mm with 1 thread of each colour and insert 4 Marking Threads (MT) in piece as follows: MT-1 at beg of round, MT-2 after 11-12-13 sts, MT-3 after 22-24-26 sts (= mid front), MT-4 after 33-36-39 sts. Work 4 rows garter st and continue in stocking st. Remember the knitting tension! At the same time from round 1 inc and dec as follows: On every other row until piece measures 14-15-16 cm: After MT-2: 1 yo, work yo into back of st on return row to avoid a hole Before and after MT-3: K2 tog before MT, MT, slip 1 st as if to knit, K1, psso Before MT-4: 1 yo, work yo into back of st on return row to avoid a hole. At the same time on every 8th row a total of 4 times: Before and after MT-1: K tog 2 sts before MT, MT, slip 1 st as if to knit, psso. After all dec are complete = 36-40-44 sts on row. When piece measures 17-18-19 cm keep the first 8-9-10 sts on needle, put the next 20-22-24 sts on a thread (= mid upper foot) and keep the next 8-9-10 sts on needle = 16-18-20 sts for heel. Work Heel – see above explanation. When heel is completed put sts from thread back on needle = 36-40-44 sts. Continue in stocking st, at the same time dec on every 2 cm twice as follows: K tog the last 2 sts before sts on upper foot (work into back of st), and K tog the first 2 sts after sts on upper foot = 32 -36-40 sts. When piece measures 18-19-21 cm from MT insert a MT each side with 16-18-20 sts on upper foot and 16-18-20 sts under foot. Continue in stocking st on all sts, at the same time dec 1 st on both sides of each MT on every other row a total of 5-6-6 times, then on every row 1-1-2 times – dec before MT: K 2 tog, dec after the MT: K 2 tog into back of st. = 8 sts left. On next row K tog all sts 2 by 2, cut the thread and pull through remaining sts. |
