Bon tricot!

Do you start the 2 garter stitches per side at the first pearl row, at the start of the ribbing or at the stockinette? Thank you.

Dear Denise, cast on, purl 1 row, then work rib while working the stripes 11cm. After the rib, you start working in stocking stitch and here you start with the 2 stitches in garter stitch for the seam. Happy knitting!

When sleeve measures 27-25-24-24-23 cm inc. 1 st each side (inc within the 2 seam sts each side) every 7-4.5-3.5-4-3 cm a total of 4-6-7-6-7 times = 38-42-44-47-49 sts. When sleeve measures 51-51-49-48-45 cm bind off for sleeve cap each side on every other row: 3sts 1 time, 2 sts 1 time and 1st 1-1-2-3-5 times. Continue to bind off 2 sts each side until sleeve measures 57 cm. Then bind off 3 sts each side 1 time. The sleeve now measures approx 58cm. Bind off the remaining sts. Knit the other sleeve. Assembly: Sew the right shoulder seam Collar: Pick up 40-45 sts around the neck on needles size 9 with 1 thread of 3800 A, 1 thread of 15 S-T + 1 thread of 13 V. Knit 6 rows stocking sts. Bind off loosely –to avoid the edge of the neck being too tight make a yo every 6 sts at the same time you bind off (the yo is bound off as a st). Set in the sleeves. Sew the sleeves and the sides together in the seam sts. SCARF: Measures: approx 16 x 160 cm Materials: DROPS Alpaca from Garnstudio 100 g colour no. 3800, Heather Drops pointed needles size 4 mm Knitting Gauge: 28 sts x 30 rows on needles size 4 mm in pattern M1 = 10 x 10 cm. Pattern: See diagram M.1. Diagram is seen from the right side. Scarf: Cast on 44 sts on needles size 4 in Alpaca and purl 1 row from the wrong side. Knit next row as follows: 1 seam st (all seam sts are knitted in garter sts) M.1A (=2 sts), M.1B over the next 40 sts, 1 seam st. Continue like this until finished measurement. Remember to check your knitting gauge! When scarf measures 160 cm bind off loosely. |
