I understand the rest of the chart, but confused about the instructions for the center A1 ring. Not sure about the instructions for the "X".Does that mean there are three stitches for each "X"?
07.09.2024 - 12:15DROPS Design answered:
Dear Maria, X = 1 double crochet around the chain-stitch ring. It's just that, depending on the previous stitches you work it around the stitch ring, in the 3rd chain stitch or in the stitch. In this case, it's 1 stitch around the chain stitch ring. Happy crochetting!

How many stitches should you end up with after working A1?I don\'t understand the instructions after the chain ring of 5 is complete.
07.09.2024 - 09:44DROPS Design answered:
Dear Maria, in A.1 you start with 1 chain stitch, 6 double crochet /single crochet around the chain-stitch ring and 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch. Then work chart A.2 over the chain/slip stitch and A.3 over the other 6 double/single crochet. Happy crochetting!

Huovutuksen yhteydessä osa nypyistä oli painunut nurjalle puolelle eikä painelunkaan jälkeen oikealle puolelle olleet kovin kauniita. Muuten oikein kiva lopputulos.

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagrams A.1, A.2 and A.3. CHAIN STITCH: If you work outermost on the hook the chain stitch will often be too tight; 1 chain stitch should be as long as 1 double crochet is wide. COLOURS: A.1: Work with crimson red. A.2 and A.3: Work 5 rounds with crimson red, 2 rounds with medium grey and 3 rounds with crimson red. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- TRIVET – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked from the middle outwards. When the piece is finished it is felted in the washing machine. TRIVET: Using crochet hook size 9 mm and Snow, work A.1 - read COLOURS and CHAIN STITCH in explanations above. Complete diagram A.1. Then continue in the round according to diagrams A.2 and A.3 as follows: Work diagram A.2 (= 1 time) and then diagram A.3 to end of round (= 6 times). REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! When the diagrams are finished there are 35 bobbles on the last round of bobbles and the piece measures approx. 34 cm in diameter. Using a needle and crimson red Snow, tack up and down through the middle stitches and tighten to close the hole. Cut and fasten the strand. FELTING: Place the trivet in the washing machine together with a towel and using a detergent without enzymes or optical bleaches. Wash at 40 degrees with normal centrifuge and without pre-wash. After washing, shape the trivet while still wet. Later wash as a normal wool garment. AFTER FELTING: If the piece is not felted enough and is too big: Wash the piece one more time in the washing machine while it is still wet add a terry towel that measures approx. 50 x 70 cm - NOTE: Do not use a short program. If the piece has been felted too much and is too small: While the piece is still wet stretch it to the correct measurements, if the piece is dry, make sure to soak it first. Remember: All subsequent washes are as a normal wool garment. |
