Continue in the different sizes as follows: SIZES 1/2 - 3/4 years: ROUND 7: Work 1 half-treble crochet in each half-treble crochet, AT THE SAME TIME as you increase 4-8 half-treble crochets evenly spaced on the round = 52-56 half-treble crochets. ROUND 8: Work 1 half-treble crochet in each half-treble crochet = 52-56 half-treble crochets. SIZES 5/6 – 7/8 years: ROUND 7: Work 1 half-treble crochet in each of the first 5 half-treble crochets, * 2 half-treble crochets in the next half-treble crochet, 1 half-treble crochet in each of the next 5 half-treble crochets *, work from *-* to end of round and finish with 2 half-treble crochets in the last half-treble crochet = 56 half-treble crochets. ROUND 8: Work 1 half-treble crochet in each half-treble crochet, AT THE SAME TIME as you increase 2-4 half-treble crochets evenly spaced on the round = 58-60 half-treble crochets. ALL SIZES: The increases are now finished in all sizes and there are 52-56-58-60 half-treble crochets on the round. On the next round attach the ears to the hat: Fold the ear so there are 8 chain stitches (from the cast-on edge) available to work with. Work the first 9-10-11-11 half-treble crochets on the hat, lay the ear so you can work through the 2 layers on the ear and the layer on the hat. Work 1 half-treble crochet in each of the 8 stitches on the hat and ear. Work half-treble crochets in the next 18-20-20-22 stitches on the hat. Lay the other ear so you can work through the 2 layers on the ear and the layer on the hat. Work 1 half-treble crochet in each of the 8 stitches on the hat and the ear. Work half-treble crochets in the last 9-10-11-11 stitches on the hat. Work half-treble crochets in the round until the piece measures 16-17-18-18 cm from the top. Now work an edge around the bottom of the hat and make holes for the eyes. ROUND 1: Work 1 half-treble crochet in each of the first 19-21-20-20 stitches, work 8-8-10-11 chain stitches, skip the next 6-6-8-9 half-treble crochets, work 2 half-treble crochets in the next half-treble crochet. Work 8-8-10-11 chain stitches, skip the next 6-6-8-9 half-treble crochets and work 1 half-treble crochet in each of the last 20-22-21-21 half-treble crochets.
