How do we assemble this garment. drops 63-19. do we start with sewing in raglan right sleeve then left , leaving back open , then picking up the stitches from neck , knitting neck and then back to assembling back of left sleeve and then side seems?

Dear Miscou123, the neck edge is here worked in the round, this means you have to sew all raglan seam then pick sts to work neck edge in the round. If you rather wants to work neck edge in rows, sew all seams except one (sleeve/back piece). Then sew last raglan seam + neck edge. Happy knitting!

Hi, I’m knitting this jumper but I would like to knit it with ordinary sleeves rather than raglan ones - is there any pattern that’s similar but without raglan sleeves, that I could use for the neck shaping and a general idea of sleeve size (I don’t want the sleeves to be too bulky under the arms). Many thanks!

Dear Fiona, you can browse all jumpers worked with the same tension to adjust this one as you like it to be. For any further individual assistance, please contact your DROPS store, even per mail or telephone. Happy knitting!

Hello - my raglan is very lumpy. I did 8 times decrease 2 on a knit row on every 4th row then 4 times the decrease 3 on a knit row won very 4th row. Is that right. Thank you.

Dear Mrs Pen, in 2nd size you dec 2 sts on each side (= 4 sts dec on row) a total of 8 times every 4th row then you dec 3 sts on each side (= 6 sts dec on row) a total of 4 times every 4th row. Happy knitting!

When the work measures 47 (49-52) cm bind off 4 (4-4) sts at each side of the work for armhole = 84 (90-96) sts. Dec for raglan inside 4 edge sts (knit these sts in stockinette st) every 4th row: 2 sts 9 (8-5) times, 3 sts 3 (4-7) times - see Raglan shaping instructions above. When the work measures 67 (70-73) cm, bind off the center 12 (16-16) sts for the neck. Bind off at each neck edge every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1 time. When all raglan and neck shaping is complete 4 (4-4) sts remain at each side. Put these sts on a st holder. The work measures approx. 71 (74-77) cm. Back: Cast on and knit as for the front. Bind off the center 18 (22-22) sts for the neck when the work measures 70 (73-76) cm. Bind off 2 sts at each neck edge on the next row. When all raglan and neck shaping is complete 4 (4-4) sts remain at each side. Put these sts on a st holder. The work measures approx. 71 (74-77) cm. Sleeve: Cast on 42 (42-48) sts on double pointed needles with 1 strand Alaska + 1 Glitter (2 strands); join and place a marker at the join. Knit rib for 15 cm. Change to stockinette st. After the rib, inc 1 st each side of marker 15 (17-14) times every 4th (3rd-4th) row = 72 (76-76) sts. When the work measures 46 (44-45) cm bind off 3 sts each side of marker and knit the rest back and forth on the needles. Then shape raglan inside 1 edge st (this is knit in stockinette st) at each side every 4th row see Raglan shaping instructions above: 2 sts 9 (7-7) times, 3 sts 3 (5-5) times = 12 (12-12) sts - When the work measures 70 (69-70) cm put sts on a st holder. Assembly: Sew side- and raglan seams - 1 edge st for seam has been allotted on all pieces. Put sts from the st holder at the neck on the needles and pick up so that there is a total of approx. 78-90 sts (divisible by 6 sts) around the neck on double pointed needles with 1 strand Alaska + 1 Glitter (2 strands). Join and P 1 row (right side row), then K 1 row, continue with rib. When the neck measures 11 cm change to: 2 strands Pelliza + 1 strand Glitter (3 strands), continue with rib for a further 4 rows and then bind off loosely in rib. |
