Crochet tension: Remember hook size is only a guide. 19 treble crochets in width and approx. 8 rows in height with hook size 4 mm = 10 x 10 cm. NOTE: Due to different crochet techniques, the crochet tension can vary from one person to another; increase/decrease a hook size if necessary to get the right tension. Crochet info: The first treble crochet on each row is replaced by 3 chain stitches and each row finishes with 1 treble crochet in the 3rd chain stitch from the previous row. Lace pattern: See Diagram 1. Textured pattern: Work in the front of the stitch/ treble crochet, i.e. do not work through the whole of the stitch/ treble crochet, in this way you will get a striped effect - work in this way on every row of treble crochets. Decrease tip (for armholes and neck): Decrease as follows at beginning of row: Replace 1 treble crochet with 1 slip stitch. Decrease as follows at end of row: Turn piece when the number of treble crochets left on row is the number to be decreased and work back. --------------------------------------------------------- Back piece: Work 119-133-146-160-178 chain stitches (incl. 3 chain stitches to turn) with hook size 4 mm and Muskat. The first row is worked as follows: Work 1 treble crochet in 4th chain stitch from hook, * skip 1 chain stitch, 1 treble crochet in each of the next 2 chain stitches *, repeat from *-* to end of row (In Sizes S + L finish with 1 treble crochet in last chain stitch) = 79-88-97-106-118 treble crochets, turn piece. Then work Textured pattern - see description above - with 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet. Remember the crochet tension. When piece measures 8-8-8-9-9 cm work Diagram1, then continue with treble crochets as before (work 2 treble crochets around each chain-space and 1 treble crochet between each treble crochet-group - see diagram - make sure the number of treble crochets is still 79-88-97-106-118). At the same time on row 2 after Diagram 1 increase in each side by working 1 extra treble crochet in next treble crochet in each side. Repeat the increase when piece measures 22 and 30 cm = 85-94-103-112-124 treble crochets. When piece measures 31-31-32-32-33 cm work Diagram 1 again, then continue with treble crochets and Textured pattern to finished length. At the same time, when piece measures 37-38-39-40-41 cm decrease to armholes in each side on each row - see Decrease tip: 3 treble crochets 1-1-1-2-3 times, 2 treble crochets 2-3-4-4-5 times and 1 treble crochet 1-2-3-3-4 times = 69-72-75-78-78 treble crochets. When piece measures 54-56-58-60-62 cm (there are now 2 rows left), work 1 row over the 24-25-26-27-27 treble crochets in each side (do not work over the middle 21-22-23-24-24 treble crochets = neck). Then decrease 1 treble crochet towards neck on the last row = 23-24-25-26-26 treble crochets left on each shoulder. Cut the strand, piece measures approx. 56-58-60-62-64 cm. Left front piece: Work 61-65-74-79-88 chain stitches (incl. 3 chain stitches to turn) with hook size 4 mm and Muskat. The first row is worked as follows: Work 1 treble crochet in 4th chain stitch from the hook, * skip 1 chain stitch, 1 treble crochet in each of the next 2 chain stitches *, repeat from *-* to end of row ( In Sizes M + L finish with 1 treble crochet in the last chain stitch) = 40-43-49-52-58 treble crochets, turn piece. Then continue with Textured pattern and Lace pattern as for back piece. At the same time, on row 2 after Diagram 1 has been worked for the first time, increase in the side as for back piece = 43-46-52-55-61 treble crochets. When piece measures 37-38-39-40-41 cm decrease for armhole as for back piece = 35-35-38-38-38 treble crochets. When piece measures 49-51-52-54-56 cm, decrease 8-7-9-8-8 treble crochets towards mid front for neck - see Decrease tip. Then decrease towards neck every row: 2 treble crochets 1 time and 1 treble crochet 2 times = 23-24-25-26-26 treble crochets left on shoulder. Continue working until piece is same length as back piece and cut strand. Right front piece: Work as for left but in reverse. Sleeve: Work 63-63-71-71-75 loose chain stitches (incl. 6 chain stitches to turn) with hook size 4 mm and Muskat. The first row is worked as follows: 1 treble crochet in 7th chain stitch from hook, * skip 3 chain stitches, 1 treble crochet in next chain stitch, 3 chain stitches, 1 treble crochet in same chain stitch *, repeat from *-* = 15-15-17-17-18 treble crochet-groups, turn piece. The next 2 rows are worked as follows: 1 chain stitch, 1 slip stitch around the first chain-space, 6 chain stitches, 1 treble crochet around same chain-space, in each of the next 14-14-16-16-17 chain-spaces work 1 treble crochet, 3 chain stitches and 1 treble crochet. After the 3 rows you have now worked, continue in the same way but with 2 chain stitches between the treble crochets instead of 3 chain stitches. When piece measures 15 cm continue working treble crochets with Textured pattern (work 2 treble crochets around each chain-space and 1 treble crochet between each treble crochet-group but around the last chain-space work just 1 treble crochet - see diagram) = 43-43-49-49-52 treble crochets. When piece measures 16 cm increase in each side by working 1 extra treble crochet in the next-outermost treble crochet in each side. Repeat the increase when piece measures 18 and 21 cm = 49-49-55-55-58 treble crochets. When piece measures 22 cm work Diagram 1, then continue with treble crochets and textured pattern. At the same time, when piece measures 27 cm increase in each side again as before. Repeat the increase every 2.5-1.5-1.5-1-1 cm (i.e. in Sizes XL + XXL increase every row upwards) 5-8-8-11-11 more times = 61-67-73-79-82 treble crochets. When piece measures 42-42-41-40-40 cm work Diagram 1 again, then work treble crochets with textured pattern to finished length. At the same time, when piece measures 47-47-46-45-45 cm decrease for sleeve cap in each side every row - see Decrease tip: 4 treble crochets1 time and 3 treble crochets 1 time, then 2 treble crochets in each side until piece measures approx. 55-56-56-56-57 cm, finally 3 treble crochets 1 time in each side. Cut strand, piece measures approx. 56-57-57-57-58 cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams edge to edge with small neat stitches - divide the strand when sewing so the seam is not thick. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams in one go - sew edge to edge with small neat stitches. Crochet an edge around bottom of sleeves: Work a round of chain-spaces around each sleeve with hook size 4 mm and Muskat as follows: 1 double crochet in first chain-space, * 5 chain stitches, 1 double crochet around next chain-space *, repeat from *-* and finish with 5 chain stitches and 1 slip stitch in first double crochet at beginning of round. Left band: Work 4 rows of double crochets upwards along the left front piece (there should be approx. 2 to 3 double crochets around each treble crochet) = approx. 78 to 135 double crochets (turn each row with 1 chain stitch) - make sure you do not have too many or too few double crochets, the band should be neat and even. Right band: Work as for left, but after row 2 work 6 buttonholes evenly spread. The bottom buttonhole should be approx. 10 cm from the bottom edge and the top buttonhole 2 stitches from the top. 1 buttonhole = 2 chain stitches, skip 2 double crochets, 1 double crochet in next stitch. On the next row work 2 double crochets around chain stitch. Collar: Work approx. 64 to 76 double crochets (divisible by 3 + 1) around neck (not over bands) with hook size 4 mm and Muskat - start working from the wrong side so that the join is covered when collar is turned down. Then work lace pattern according to Diagram 1. After row 1 in diagram, increase in each side by working 1 extra treble crochet-group in the next outermost chain-space in each side every 2nd row upwards. At the same time, increase 3 extra treble crochet-groups evenly spread from shoulder to shoulder on the back piece every 2nd row upwards. When collar measures approx. 8-9-9-10-10 cm work 1 finishing row of chain-spaces in the same way as around sleeves. |
