Bon tricot!

Bon tricot!

Knitting tension: 17 stitches x 26 rows with needle size 5 mm and pattern = 10 x 10 cm. Remember needle size is only a guide! Ridge/Garter stitch (back and forth on needle): 1 ridge = Knit 2 rows. Buttonhole: Work buttonholes on right front piece. Buttons buttoned up through holes in pattern. Pattern: The pattern is divisible by 3 stitches (= 1 repeat). Row 1: (wrong side) * 1 yarn over, P3 together *, repeat from *-*. Row 2: (right side) * K1, (K1, P1) in yarn over *, repeat from *-*. Row 3: * P3 together, 1 yarn over *, repeat from *-*. Row 4: * (K1, P1) in yarn over, K1 *, repeat from *-*. Repeat rows 1 - 4. (Tip! It is easiest to P3 together with strand at front of piece). ---------------------------------------------------------- Body: The jacket is worked back and forth with circular needle. Cast on 200 (212-224) stitches (divisible by 3 stitches + 1 edge stitch in each side towards mid front) with circular needle size 5 mm and work 1 ridge. Work Pattern upwards with 1 stitch garter stitch in each side towards mid front. Remember the knitting tension. When piece measures 30 (32-33) cm work next row as follows: 50 (53-56) stitches front piece, cast off 4 stitches for armhole, 92 (98-104) stitches back piece, cast off 4 stitches for armhole, 50 (53-56) stitches front piece. Each piece is finished separately. Front piece: = 50 (53-56) stitches. Continue to cast off for armhole every 2nd row: 2 stitches x 1 (2-3), 1 stitch x 3 (2-3) = 45 (47-47) stitches. When piece measures 47 (49-51) cm cast off for neck every 2nd row: 8 (8-9) stitches x 1, 3 stitch x 1, 2 stitches x 2, 1 stitch x 3. Cast off when piece measures 55 (57-59) cm. Back piece: = 92 (98-104) stitches. Continue to cast off for armholes as for front piece = 82 (86-86) stitches. When piece measures 53 (55-57) cm cast off the middle 24 (24-26) stitches for neck. Then cast off 2 stitches in each side on next row towards neck. Cast off when piece measures 55 (57-59) cm. Sleeve: Work back and forth on needle. Cast on 41 (41-44) stitches (divisible by 3+2) with circular needle size 5 mm and work 1 ridge. Work pattern upwards with 1 edge stitch in each side which is not worked into pattern. At the same time, when piece measures 5 (5-5) cm increase in each side: 1 stitch x 23 (23-24) for S+M: Every 4th row, L: Alternately every 3rd and 4th row = 87 (87-92) stitches. The increased stitches are worked into Pattern in each side when you have enough stitches for a complete repeat. When piece measures 44 (43-42) cm cast off for sleeve cap in each side every 2nd row: S: 3 stitches x 9, M: 3 stitches x 10, L: 3 stitches x 2, 2 stitches x 9, 3 stitches x 2, cast off. Piece measures approx. 51 (51-52) cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Knit up approx. 100-104 stitches around neck with needle size 5 mm and work 1 ridge back and forth on needle, cast off. Crochet edge: Work with 2 strands from right side and hook size 5 mm as follows: 1 row of double crochets around garter stitch edge at bottom of body, up along bands and around neck, divided as follows: 115-125 around body, 50-60 double crochets along each band, 45-50 double crochets around neck. Then work a row of double crochets in opposite direction, i.e. from left to right without turning piece. Work double crochets from right side in each double crochet from previous row (= lobster stitch). Sew sleeve seams. Repeat both rows around bottom of sleeves with approx. 22-24 double crochets. Sew in sleeves and sew on buttons. |
