Your previous answer to me on reading rows makes no sense. This graft is way off - if I follow it as written there will never be any knit sts on one side with those sts being purled on the opposite side. Your explanation leaves a lot of questions. Ive knitted for over 40 years and have never had this issue
31.03.2024 - 21:25DROPS Design answered:
Dear Elaine, you can see more information on how to read our knitting charts: https://www.garnstudio.com/lesson.php?id=68&cid=19. In the white squares you work normal stocking stitch (knit from right side, purl from wrong side). In the squares with a horizontal bar you work reverse stocking stitch (purl from the right side, knit from the wrong side). You read odd numbered rows from right to left. Then, you turn the piece and work back, from left to right. Therefore, since you just turned the piece, the stitches at the beginning of the second row will be worked over the stitches at the end of the first row. So they will match, with purl over knit and knit over purl. Happy knitting!

Are all rows read from? left to right
26.03.2024 - 16:52DROPS Design answered:
Dear Elaine, the diagram shows all the stitches as they would look like from the right side. Thus, odd numbered rows are read from right to left, even numbered rows are read left to right. I hope this helps. Happy Knitting!

"2 stitches in garter stitch, purl 2". When working from the wrong side, is this reversed. i.e 2 stitches in purl followed by 2 in garter?
16.08.2023 - 21:46DROPS Design answered:
Dear Evelina, from wrong side work: 2 sts in garter stitch, knit 2, then work the first 7 sts in A.1 (reading left to right, ie start with the 7th st towards the 1st st), repeat A.1 (from left to right), then knit 2 and finish with 2 sts in garter stitch. Happy knitting!

Liebe Frau Conrad, die Rückreihen lesen Sie links nach rechts, wie bei der Zeichenerklärung, dh so: 3 rechts, 2 links, 3 rechts, 7 links. Viel Spaß beim stricken!

I am a bit confused. Can you explain what is meant by 'drop one yarn over off'? Do I drop the stitch or pull it over the other yarn over?
23.07.2022 - 14:53DROPS Design answered:
Hi Isabel, see the video HERE but reverse it: I mean, on next row drop one yarn over off, purl the other yarn over (not like in the video 'on next row from WS P first yo and drop the next yo'). Happy knitting!
