I\'m a relatively new knitter looking to make this pattern but am not sure if it\'s knitted bottom up or top down. I\'m confused because for the size I\'m looking at making (M), casting on 246 stitches seems like a lot for the hem. Can you please elaborate? Thank you.

Dear Shay, before you start knitting, please read through the pattern from the beginning to end, so you can see the general construction of the piece. The sweater is knitted from the bottom up, and the yarns it is designed are relatively thin (in our B yarngroup), also the ribing is pulling together the knitted material. Happy knitting!

Hi , have bought quite a lot of drops cotton muskat and safran , I love lots of your patterns but find the sizing awkward , I am 112 cm bust for a fitted top , 114 for loose but most of your patterns are either too small or too large , would there be a way of altering them please , thank you
26.10.2023 - 18:04DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Masson-Chard, measure a similar garment you have and like the shape and compare these measurements to the one in the chart, this is the best way to find the best matching size. Adjust to a size up or down if needed if you like it to be looser or not. Read more here. Happy knitting!

Can you please update pattern. It states work k3 P4. Should be K3 P3. It doesn't match pattern M1. It states repeat K3 P4 13 times twice thats only 156 stitches. Yet you cast on 218?? None of the numbers work in this pattern and I've only just begun.
19.06.2021 - 17:22DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Bailey, work the 218 sts as follows: M.1 (= 15 sts), then repeat (K3,P4) a total of 13 times (= over the next 91 sts), knit 3, work M.1 (=15 sts), and repeat (K3,p4) a total of 13 times (= over the next 91 sts), and knit 3 = 15+91+3+15+91+3=218 sts. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!

Work next round as follows: Cast off the first 12 sts (= M.1) for armhole with K over K and P over P, K the next 79-89-95-106-119-132 sts, cast off the next 12 sts (= M.1) for armhole with K over K and P over P, K the next 39-44-47-53-59-66 sts, insert a marker before next st (= mid back, beg round from here) = 158-178-190-212-238-264 sts on the round. Work M.2 (= 13 sts) over all sts. When M.2 has been worked vertically, 220-242-264-286-308-330 sts remain on needle. Work next round as follows: * M.3 (= 3 sts), P 8 *, repeat from *-* the entire round. AT THE SAME TIME when 5-5-6-6-8-8 rounds have been worked after last dec in M.2, dec 1 st in the left side of every P section. Repeat dec alternately in right and left side of every P section on every 5th-5th-6th-6th-8th-8th round a total of 3 times = 160-176-192-208-224-240 sts. When M.3 has been worked a total of 3-3-4-4-5-5 times vertically, continue to work as follows: Rib K 3/P 5 for 3 rounds, then dec 1 P st in every P section as before = 140-154-168-182-196-210 sts. Continue with rib K 3/P 4. When 3 rounds with rib K 3/P 4 have been worked, cast off with K over K and P over P. The entire garment now measures approx. 50-52-54-56-58-60 cm. |
