Why does the hexagon have to be made using dpns? Isn't there a pattern for a flat hexagon and wouldn't that work also?
01.03.2018 - 16:12DROPS Design answered:
Dear Cindy, the hexagons are worked in the round on dpn but you can use the technique of magic loop if you rather. Happy knitting!

Some one can tell me, what the size of one peace is?
05.06.2013 - 12:37DROPS Design answered:
Dear Andeli, if you have the correct tension of 23 sts x 48 rows = 10 x 10 cm, your hexagon should measure approx 5 cm in each side and 9 cm from side to side. Happy knitting!

I've completed my bag. Just added a few bead danglers at the center of the hexagons. I've put it on the face book page.

I liked this bag and have started on it.It was daunting at the beginning to knit with 7 dpn, but now after trial and error I'm pretty comfortable now. I hope to put a pic of my finished project soon:)

Amy, you have 24 sts. On round 11 you are told each repeat is P1, 1YO, P3, 1YO. So for every repeat of 4 sts you will make 2 YO's. 24 divided by 4 is 6, so 6 times you will make 2 YOs = 12 YO, and 24+12 = 36. Pattern is correct ;)

On round 11, it seems to go to 30 stitches, not 36 following the pattern.

HANDLE: Knit up 144 sts from RS around the edge at the top of bag on circular needle size 3 mm (beg mid front of bag). Work 6 rounds in garter st - see explanation above - in the round. Slip last half of sts on a stitch holder = 72 sts on the needle. Work in garter st - see explanation above - back and forth over sts on needle. AT THE SAME TIME on every row from RS, dec 1 st each side by knitting the first 2 sts tog and the last 2 sts tog. Continue like this until 12 sts remain on the needle. Measure the handle from here! Continue working back and forth over these 12 sts for approx. 20 cm. Cast off. Work the same way over the sts on the stitch holder. Sew the handles tog at mid top. |
