Thank you for your answer. I think I understand correctly now, the number of stch increases with 2 on every row from RS, one on each side of the stch with marker.

Hi, I began this poncho and I think I understand correct, just want to be sure: in the middle I keep the pattern K1, 1 YO, K1 (= st with marker), 1 YO, K1 and I increase, at the same time, one more stich between Yo and st with the marker, every other row ? So I increase 2 st on every side of the middle st (Yo and the new one, increased)? Thank you.
12.03.2012 - 21:14DROPS Design answered:
Yes, keep inc with one yo on each side of st with marker on every row from RS. On next row from WS work the yo as a stitch. So on next row from RS again make a yo on each side of middle stitch. Work the new sts into the pattern, but the row with K2 tog first when you have inc 17 new sts.

This wrap is beautiful. I am relatively new at reading patterns, but have made some hats and scarves with patterns. My question on this pattern: do I increase 2 sts on each side of marker every other row and increase 1 st on each side of marker the other row?

GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. PATTERN: See diagram M.1. The diagram shows the pattern from the RS. -------------------------------------------------------- SHOULDER WRAP: Worked from neckline down, back and forth on circular needle in 2 pieces, sewn tog afterward. Cast on 81 sts on circular needle size 5 mm with Silke-Alpaca. Work 6 rows garter st. Insert a marker in the middle st. Continue as follows from the RS: 5 garter sts, M.1 on the next 34 sts, K1, 1 YO, K1 (= st with marker), 1 YO, K1, M.1 on the next 34 sts, and finish with 5 garter sts. Continue in pattern like this, AT THE SAME TIME inc 1 st on each side of st with marker on every other row - inc with yo as before. Incorporate the inc sts in M.1 as you go along. NOTE! On rows in pattern with K2 tog and YO, K all sts until there are enough sts for a full new repeat. When piece measures 35 cm, or desired length – measure in the knitting direction and adjust to a full repeat of M.1 - cast off. Make 2 identical pieces and sew them tog in the outer loops of garter sts each side. STRING: Cut 2 threads measuring approx 300 cm each. Twist then until there resist, fold them double and let them twist again. Tie a knot each end and thread the string through the top row on neckline. Tie a bow at the front. |
