I cannot understand the final row of the M1 diagram - how to place the YO and how many? In regard to Encanto pattern thanks
18.03.2025 - 13:37DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sue, the yarn overs will be worked in the first M.1C then in each M.1B, so work M.1B as follows (last row from WS): M.1C = K3, YO, P1, YO. M.1B = K7, YO, P1, YO. On the next row (from RS) you will work the first row M.2 over the 3 stitches (YO, K1, YO). Happy knitting!

Dear Sue, this is the only format of the pattern available. In this lesson you can read more about how to work and interpret our knitting charts. You can also ask us any specific questions that may arise as your work the chart and we will try to explain it to you more clearly. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!

Dear May, on last row in M.1, you will dec 4 sts and inc 2 sts in each repeat of M.1B + inc 1 st in M.1A + inc 1 st in M.1B so that you will have less sts than when started M.1. Happy knitting!

Du følger bare opskriften, efter M.1 har du taget et antal masker ind, og igen når arb måler 29 cm tager du yderligere et antal masker ind og det er først her du er kommet til taljen. God fornøjelse!

GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. PATTERN: See diagram M.1 and M.2. The diagrams show the pattern from the RS. BUTTONHOLES: Make buttonholes on right front band. 1 buttonhole = cast off 5th st from mid front and cast on 1 new st on return row. Make buttonholes when piece measures: 6, 12, 18, 24 and 30 cm for all sizes. DECREASING TIP (applies to neckline): Make all dec from RS inside 9 sts. Dec as follows after 9 sts: slip 1 st as if to K, K1, psso. Dec as follows before 9 sts: K2 tog. ----------------------------------------------------------- BODY PIECE: Worked back and forth on circular needle from mid front. Cast on 253-277-301-337-373-409 sts on circular needle size 4.5 mm with Merino Extra Fine. Work 4 rows stocking st and continue as follows from RS: 2 garter sts, K1, P2, K1, P2, K1 (= front band), M.1A (= 3 sts), M.1 B on the next 228-252-276-312-348-384 sts, M.1 C (= 4 sts), and finish with K1, P2, K1, P2, K1, 2 garter sts (= front band). GARTER ST – see above. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! After 1 vertical repeat of M.1 there are 217-237-257-287-317-347 sts on row. Continue as follows from RS. Front band (= 9 sts as before), P3, * M.2, P7 *, repeat from *-* a total of 19-21-23-26-29-32 times and finish with M.2, P3, and front band (= 9 sts as before).Continue in pattern like this. Remember BUTTONHOLES – see above. When piece measures 15 and 25 cm dec 1 st in each P7-section = 179-195-211-235-259-283 sts. When piece measures 29 cm work 4 rows garter st (with 9 front band sts each side as before), AT THE SAME TIME on first row dec 1 st mid row = 178-194-210-234-258-282 sts. Work next row from RS as follows: 9 front band sts as before, * K2 tog, 1 YO *, repeat from *-*, and finish with 9 front band sts as before. P 1 row from WS and work 4 rows garter st (with 9 front band sts each side as before). Insert a marker 49-53-57-63-69-75 sts in from each side (= 80-88-96-108-120-132 sts on back piece), and now continue in stocking st with front band sts as before. AT THE SAME TIME dec for neckline inside front band sts – SEE DECREASING TIP: 1 st each side on every 1.5 cm a total of 18-19-20-21-22-23 times. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 38-39-40-41-42-43 cm cast off 3 sts on each side of both markers for armhole and complete each piece separately. BACK PIECE: = 74-82-90-102-114-126 sts. Cast off for armhole each side on every other row: 2 sts 0-1-2-4-6-8 times and 1 st 0-1-2-3-4-5 times = 74-76-78-80-82-84 sts. When piece measures 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm work next row as follows from RS: SIZE S + XL: 19 stocking sts, K1, P2, K1, P2, K1, 2 garter sts, * K1, P2 *, repeat from *-* a total of 2-3 times, K1, P4, * K1, P2 *, repeat from *-* 2-3 times, K1, 2 garter sts, K1, P2, K1, P2, K1, 19 stocking sts. SIZE M + XXL: 19 stocking sts, K1, P2, K1, P2, K1, 2 garter sts, * K1, P2 *, repeat from *-* a total of 3-4 times, K2, * P2, K1 *, repeat from *-* 3-4 times, 2 garter sts, K1, P2, K1, P2, K1, 19 stocking sts. SIZE L + XXXL: 19 stocking sts, K1, P2, K1, P2, K1, 2 garter sts, * K1, P2 *, repeat from *-* a total of 7-9 times, K1, 2 garter sts, K1, P2, K1, P2, K1, 19 stocking sts. When piece measures 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm cast off the middle 16-18-20-22-24-26 sts for neck and complete each shoulder separately. Cast off 1 st on neckline on next row = 28-28-28-28-28-28 sts left on shoulder. Continue with 9 sts in rib towards neckline and cast off when piece measures 58-60-62-64-66-68 cm. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Continue dec for neckline and cast off for armhole at the side as described for back piece. When all dec are complete there are 28-28-28-28-28-28 sts left on shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 58-60-62-64-66-68 cm. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Like right front piece, but mirrored. SLEEVE: Worked back and forth on needle. Cast on 54-54-58-58-62-62 sts (includes 1 edge st each side) on needle size 4.5 mm with Merino Extra Fine. Work 4 rows stocking st, and continue in rib, K1, P3, with 1 edge st each side. When piece measures 5 cm continue in stocking st on all sts. When piece measures 8 cm inc 1 st each side on every 3-2-2-1.5-1.5-1 cm a total of 9-11-12-14-15-18 times = 72-76-82-86-92-98 sts. When piece measures 35-34-34-32-31-30 cm – less for the larger sizes because of longer sleeve cap and wider shoulder – cast off for sleeve cap each side at the beg of every row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 4-4-5-5-5-5 times, 1 st 0-0-0-2-5-6 times, then 2 sts each side until piece measures 41-41-42-42-43-43 cm, now cast off 3 sts each side and cast off remaining sts on next row, piece measures approx 42-42-43-43-44-44 cm. ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulder seams. Sew sleeve seam and set in sleeves. Sew on buttons. |
