Bon tricot!

BACK PIECE: Cast on 68-76-84-92-100-108 sts on circular needle size 5.5 mm with Nepal. P 1 row from WS, then work as follows - from RS: 8 sts in GARTER ST – see explanation above, * K 4, P 4 *, repeat from *-* until 12 sts remain and finish with K 4 and 8 sts in garter st. Continue rib and garter st until piece measures 6 cm. Then work as follows from RS: Work 8 sts in garter st, A.1 over the next 48-56-64-72-80-88 sts, finish with first 4 sts in A.1 and 8 sts in garter st. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION When piece measures 22 cm, cast on 1 edge st in garter st in each side = 70-78-86-94-102-110 sts. Continue with pattern as before until piece measures 26-26-27-27-28-28 cm. Work 2 ridges over all sts. Then work as follows from RS: Work 1 edge st in garter st, work A.2 over the first 48-48-56-56-64-64 sts (= 6-6-7-7-8-8 repetitions in width), 2 sts in stocking st, work A.3 over the next 18-26-26-34-34-42 sts and finish with 1 edge st in garter st. When piece measures 47-48-49-50-51-52 cm, cast off 1 edge st in each side (= marks armholes) = 68-76-84-92-100-108 sts. When piece measures 64-66-68-70-72-74 cm, cast off the middle 24-24-26-26-28-28 sts for neck, on next row cast off 1 st from neck = 21-25-28-32-35-39 sts remain on each shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 66-68-70-72-74-76 cm. FRONT PIECE: Cast on and work as on back piece until piece measures 60-62-63-65-66-68 cm. Now slip the middle 18-18-20-20-22-22 sts on a stitch holder for neck and finish each shoulder separately. Then cast off for neck from mid front, 2 sts 1 time and 1 st 2 times = 21-25-28-32-35-39 sts remain on each shoulder. Continue pattern until piece measures 66-68-70-72-74-76 cm, cast off. SLEEVE: Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Switch to a short circular needle when inc. Cast on 40-40-48-48-48-48 sts on double pointed needles size 5 mm with Nepal. K 1 round, then work rib = K 4/P 4. When piece measures 8 cm, dec 8-6-12-10-10-8 sts evenly = 32-34-36-38-38-40 sts. Insert 1 marker at beg of round = mid under sleeve. Switch to double pointed needles size 5.5 mm. Work in stocking st, when piece measures 10-10-10-8-10-8 cm, inc 2 sts mid under sleeve. Inc every 3-2½-2½-2½-2-2 cm 14-15-16-16-18-18 times in total = 60-64-68-70-74-76 sts. Cast off when piece measures 52-50-49-47-46-44 cm. NOTE! Shorter measurements in the larger sizes because of wider shoulders. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams. Sew side seams up to armhole, leave the bottom 22 cm open = vent. Sew in sleeves. NECK: Worked in the round on circular needle. Pick up approx. 76-90 sts around the neck (incl sts on stitch holder) on a short circular needle size 5.5 mm. Work 1 ridge in GARTER ST – see explanation above, on first round in ridge inc evenly to 104-104-112-112-112-120 sts. Then work rib = K 4/P 4. Work rib until neck measures 20-20-21-21-22-22 cm, cast off with K over K and P over P. |
