Hi. I am making Butterfly Dream shawl, 133-1. I got the knitted the first part. It now says to, "now continue by repeating M.1B vertically". It doesn't work out. There are too many stitches. How do I make this work out? I won't buy any yarn until I have this figured out. I have been knitting since I was 10 years old. I have never had a pattern I couldn't figure out. I have now. Please help.... Thanks, Princey

Dear Mrs Princey, the video below shows you how to work M1B - For each time you work row 6 and row 10 with 2 times "K2 into 1 st" after each other you will get an additional K stitch on each side of inc in the middle of the repeat. Put a marker between each repetition of diagram in width cand help to follow (see videos how to work diagram under tab "Videos". Happy knitting!

I have e-mailed one question and here is another about the knit pattern Butterfly Dream Shawl. Are there some instructions missing? Continue 8 repeats of M.1 and 1 st. in stockinette at the end of the row. What happens to rows 9 - 15 between M.1 and M.1B? I want to make this but need to understand this pattern first. Thanks so much for your help!! Princey

Thank you for your patience with me. Your young lady Amber, in the San Luis Obispo store, also took the time to help me with the same explanation. For some reason, it was not getting through to me. I will now happily continue on making your beautiful shawl. With much gratitude, Martha Adkins in sunny California.

I am so sorry but I still have a problem understanding. I have completed the m.1b section and am ready to begin the m.1 section. I have 129 stitches on my needle. When I begin the next section the pattern repeats every twelve stitches. When you divide 129 by 12 I wind up with nine stitches on my needle which is four stitches short for my last twelve stitch repeat. Can you please explain to me where I get those missing stitches. Thank you, Martha
26.03.2014 - 18:40DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Adkins, you start 1st M.1B repeat with 8 x 12 sts + K1 and end repeat in height with 8 x 16 sts + K1. For each time you work row 6 and row 10 with 2 times "K2 into 1 st" after each other you will get an additional K stitch on each side of inc in the middle of the repeat. Put a marker between each repetition of diagram in width cand help to follow. Happy knitting!

Thank you for the video. I had no problem following the pattern to this point in the video I have 129 stitches on the needles. It is the next set (starting at the "M.1B section) that I don't understand. How do I knit a 12 stitch pattern into a 16 stitch pattern and come out with equal sections. I get 10 repeats of 12 stitches with 9 left at the end of the row. Is there a video for continuing to the second set of M.1B? Martha
