Herringbone knitting stitch
The classic texture is perfect for patterns like scarfs, neck warmers, bags and interior design.
The fabric gets dense and you work on a larger needle than recommended for the yarn size.
We use DROPS Merino Extra Fine, a DK weight in yarn group B, and we are using a size 13 (9 mm ) needle.
HERRINGBONE PATTERN (divisible with an even number + edge sts):
Row 1 (RS): K1 (edge st in garter st), K2tog through back loops but *don't move the worked sts over to the right needle, drop the first st from left needle, and K second st tog with next st, repeat *-* until 2 sts remain on row, K1, K1 (edge st in garter st).
Row 2 (WS): K1, P2tog but *don't move the worked sts over to the right needle, drop the first st from left needle, and P second st tog with next st, repeat *-* until 2 sts remain on row, P1, K1 edge st.
Repeat row 1 and 2.

Einfach super, aber es geht auch mit ungerader Maschenzahl und der rand wird schöner wenn man die letzte Masche abhebt und dann in der nächsten Reihe von hintem einsticht und abstrickt. Wundervoll für warme Taillen und Hüftwärmer und besonders für Wolle mit farbschattierungen. Danke!
