How to knit herringbone stitch

In this DROPS video we show how to knit the herringbone stitch.

This pretty herringbone texture is not as complicated as it may look. The classic texture is perfect for patterns like scarfs, neck warmers, bags and interior design. The fabric gets dense and you work on a larger needle than recommended for the yarn size.

In this video we knit with DROPS Merino Extra Fine, a DK weight in yarn group B, and we are using a size 13 (9 mm ) needle.

Hei Tonje. Vi har ingen oppskrift på det, ei heller testet det. Anbefaler deg til å strikke en liten prøvelapp med økninger og i-cord for å teste det ut :) Høres ut som det kan bli et flott skjerf. mvh DROPS Design

Bonjour Stéphanie, un diagnostique à distance est assez complexe à effectuer, essayez de bien marquer vos rangs sur l'endroit (avec un marqueur par ex) pour éviter de perdre le fil endroit/envers, ce peut être une piste. Dans l'idéal apportez votre ouvrage à votre magasin/envoyez-lui une photo par mail, ou bien demandez de l'aide à d'autres tricoteuses via notre DROPS Workshop par exemple. Bon tricot!

Liebe Vesna, Sie sollten nicht abnehmen, die Maschenanzahl muss immer dieselbe sein, wenn Sie 2 M zusammen stricken lassen Sie die 1. dieser Maschen gleiten und die 2. Masche stricken Sie noch einmal. Siehe in der schriftlichen Anleitung sowie im Video. Viel Spaß beim stricken!

Hello Lorena. As explained in the text above the video, using this kind of stitch the final result is quite dense; this is why we suggest to work with larger needle than the ones recommended for the yarn itself. You should choose the size of needles that gives you the tension stated in the pattern you are following. Happy knitting!

In this DROPS video we show how to work a rib with knit 1, purl 1 on circular needle. Working a rib gives an elastic piece that is great for cuffs and edges.
