How to knit up stitches around an armhole, for a sleeve with split

In this DROPS video, we demonstrate how to knit up stitches around an armhole for a split-sleeve. We begin by showing you how to use a crochet hook to knit up stitches and transfer them onto a knitting needle. Then, we continue by showing you how to work with the stitches using knitting needles.

Start at the bottom of the armhole (not directly under the sleeve) and knit up the number of stitches specified in your pattern, going as far as the other side of the armhole. Knit up the stitches within one stitch, which is often a garter stitch.
Turn and work back, continuing back and forth to the measurement specified in your pattern, or use short rows for a better fit. Once completed, the sleeve is joined and worked in the round. Refer to your pattern for details on measurements, decreases, and the ribbed cuff. In this video, we demonstrate only 6–7 = 2⅜"-2¾" cm of the sleeve.
Finally, sew together the hole under the sleeve. To make the seam and sewing easier to see, we use a contrasting color in the video.
