Bon tricot!

Did I miss something on the chart? With the 2ktog sand the slkpso the 8 stitches goes to 6. Next row is knit all stitches but it doesn’t add any stitches to continue the 8 stitch pattern. Please help.
08.10.2022 - 18:03DROPS Design answered:
Dear Lu, there is a symbol next to the work-2-together symbol; like an empty oval. This is a yarn over (increase) which keeps the number of stitches in the round equal by countering the decreases. Happy knitting!

After 1st row in charts , each section A1 & A2 each have 6 stitches. And A3 -7 stitches. How do I get back to 8 stitches to continue with the chart for 7-7.5 inches. Did I miss something?
08.10.2022 - 05:13DROPS Design answered:
Dear Lu, each decrease is accompanied by a yarn over, so the amount of stitches in each row remains the same. So you will always have 8 stitches for A.1 and A.2 and 9 stitches for A.3. Happy knitting!

Dear Dominca, the 18 cm are measured from the cast on edge. Happy knitting!

Grazie
15.10.2020 - 14:27DROPS Design answered:
Buongiorno Mariarosaria. Sì, è corretto; deve risultare una maglia a legaccio. Buon lavoro!

DROPS 181-36 |
|||||||||||||||||||
INFORMATION FOR THE PATTERN: RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): 1 ridge = Knit 2 rows. DECREASE TIP (for hat): To work out how to decrease evenly, count the total number of stitches on the row (e.g. 124 stitches), minus the edge stitches (e.g. 2 stitches) and divide the remaining stitches by the number of decreases to be made (e.g. 17) = 7.1. In this example, knit every 6th and 7th stitch together. Do not decrease the edge stitches. PATTERN (for hat): See diagrams A.1 to A.3. The diagrams show all the rows in the pattern seen from the right side. ---------------------------------------------------------- HAT: The piece is worked back and forth with circular needle, bottom up. Cast on 124-132 stitches (including 1 edge stitch in each side) with circular needle size 2.5 mm and 2 strands Kid-Silk. Purl 1 row (= wrong side). The next row is worked as follows from the right side: 1 edge stitch in GARTER STITCH – see description above, * knit 2, purl 2 *, repeat from *-* until there are 3 stitches left on the row, knit 2 and finish with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. Continue rib in this way for 4-5 cm. Change to circular needle size 3.5 mm. Remove one of the strands and continue working with 1 strand Kid-Silk as follows: Knit 1 row from the right side where you decrease 17 stitches evenly on row in both sizes – read DECREASE TIP = 107-115 stitches. Knit 1 row from the wrong side. The next row is worked as follows from the right side: 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, A.1 (= 8 stitches), work A.2 until there are 10 stitches left on the row (= 11-12 repeats of 8 stitches), work A.3 (= 9 stitches) and finish with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. Continue the pattern in this way. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the piece measures approx. 18-19 cm – finish after a complete or half repeat in the pattern, knit 1 row from the right side where you decrease 17-15 stitches evenly on row = 90-100 stitches. Insert 10 marker threads in the piece with 9-10 stitches between each marker thread. Now work garter stitch back and forth over all stitches. AT THE SAME TIME on the first row from the right side, decrease 1 stitch after each marker thread by knitting 2 stitches twisted together (= 10 stitches decreased). Decrease in this way every 4th row (i.e. every other row from the right side) a total of 8-9 times = 10 stitches left in both sizes. On the next row from the right side, knit all stitches together 2 and 2 = 5 stitches. Cut the strand, pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten the strand and fasten well. The hat measures approx. 25-27 cm from the top down. ASSEMBLY: Sew the hat together mid back – sew in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch so that you get a flat seam. ---------------------------------------------------------- NECK WARMER: Cast on 148-168 stitches with circular needle size 4 mm and 2 strands Kid-Silk. Remove the one strand and work GARTER STITCH back and forth – see description above, with 1 strand Kid-Silk. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the piece measures 35-40 cm cast off LOOSELY with 2 strands Kid-Silk. ASSEMBLY: Sew the short side to the short side – sew in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch so that you get a flat seam. |
