GARTER ST (worked in the round):
1 ridge = 2 rounds. * K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*.
----------------------------------------------------------

HAT:
Worked in the round on circular needle, switch to double pointed needles when needed. Cast on 106-112 sts on circular needle size 3.5 mm with Big Merino. K 1 round. Work rib = K 1/P 1 for 3 cm. Switch to circular needle size 4.5 mm and K 1 round while at the same time dec 10 sts evenly = 96-102 sts. Work next round as follows: 87-92 sts in stocking st, 9-10 sts in GARTER ST – see explanation above. Continue in stocking st and garter st - REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION. When piece measures 20-22 cm, insert 6 markers 16-17 sts apart - insert first marker after first st in stocking st at beg of round (to get a nice dec over ridges). On next round beg dec. Dec 1 st before every marker by K 2 tog before markers. Work 1 round without dec. Then dec the same way every round 12-13 more times = 18 sts. On next round K sts tog 2 by 2 = 9 sts. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten. Hat measures approx. 26-28 cm.

In the Hungarian pattern: "UGYANAKKOR, 810 szemet egyenletesen elosztva fogyasztunk" - not 810, only 10...

Str.
