GARTER ST (worked in the round):
1 ridge = 2 rounds. * K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*.

GARTER ST (back and forth):
K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 rows K.

PATTERN:
See diagram A.1 (choose diagram for correct size). Work entire pattern in stocking st.

INCREASE TIP:
Inc 1 st by making 1 YO, on next round K YO twisted to avoid holes.
----------------------------------------------------------

SLIPPER:
Worked in the round from the toe to the instep, then worked back and forth over heel. Sew tog mid back and sew mid front on toe at the end.

Cast on 20 sts on double pointed needles size 4.5 mm with forest. K 1 round and insert 1 marker in first st and in 11th st (= sides). Continue in stocking st AT THE SAME TIME on next round inc 1 st on each side of both markers (= 4 sts inc on round) - READ INCREASE TIP! Repeat inc in each side every other round 2-3-4 more times = 32-36-40 sts. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION Continue with forest until piece measures 5 cm. Then work in the round according to A.1 (= 2 repetitions in width). When A.1 is done vertically, work 2 ridges in GARTER ST in the round - see explanation above, with olive - AT THE SAME TIME insert a marker mid on top of foot after the first 8-9-10 sts. Cut the yarn.
Continue with olive, beg after marker and work in GARTER ST back and forth - see explanation above. Cast off when piece measures approx. 22-24-26 cm (let the yarn end be approx. 20 cm, this is used for assembly).

ASSEMBLY:
Fold cast-off edge double and sew tog mid back - sew in edge sts to avoid a chunky seam.
Sew tog hole at the front of toe with grafting/kitchener stitches in forest - sew the 10 sts on top of foot tog with the 10 sts under foot.

Knit another slipper the same way.

The pattern on the slippers is a multiple of 6 yet only the medium size which increases to 36 sts. allows for completing all the repeats. The small with 32 sts. and large (which I am making ) have a jog in the design at the end of the round. I am working it according to pattern. Any suggestions?

DROPS Design 02.12.2016 kl. 08:37:

Dear Mary, you are working on a smaller number of sts to fit around foot in small size - the pattern will not fit around foot, but this "jog" will be on each side and not that visible. Happy knitting!
