How to cast on using the Turkish (Eastern) method

In this DROPS video we show how you can cast on stitches using the so called Turkish (aka Eastern) method. This is a very useful invisible cast on technique for toe up socks, pillow cases, bags etc.

Wrap the working yarn loose around two needles, hold on to the tail. Start knitting the sts on the upper needle, then turn work around and knit sts on the other needle, continue working each needle and in the round.
If it's a toe on a sock you will start to inc on 2nd round by inc 1 st each side of each needle on every or every other round until enough sts for width of foot.

Verwende diese Anschlagsart bei allen Strickstücken. Ob Türkischer Anschlag oder Wickelanschlag Fange oben mit einem Knötchen an. Dadurch kann sich das Strickstück nicht auflösen. Das zählt eine Masche. Wickle von hinten nach vorn und kann dadurch auch meine Raglanpullover so beginnen. Da strickt man natürlich nur die eine Nadel und schließe den Kreis. So hab ich keine lange Anfangsfäden oder zu wenig Faden. Die erste Reihe stricke ich verschränkt, damit sich nichts löst.

Bonjour Monica, vous pouvez augmentez les mailles comme vous le souhaitez: jeté, augmentation intercalaire, en tricotant 2 fois la même m etc. Bon tricot!

Bonjour Nancy, dans la vidéo, nous montrons le montage des mailles puis les premiers tours, tricotés sur les 2 aiguilles, l'une après l'autre. Suivez en même temps les indications de votre modèle (augmentations éventuelles, motif, etc..). Bon tricot!

In this DROPS video, we show you how to work each front piece with diagonal shoulders and short rows, the piece is worked bottom up. This technique is used among other things in pattern DROPS 255-9, Driftwood Vest, with a different stitch count, number of short rows and cast-on stitches.
