BODY:
Worked in the round on circular needle.
Cast on 222-258-294-318-354-390 sts on circular needle size 3.5 mm with off white. K 1 round. Then work rib as follows: * K 3, P 3 *, repeat from *-* the entire round. When rib measures 6-6-6-8-8-8 cm, work pattern in the round according to diagram A.1. When A.1 has been worked 1 time vertically, work pattern according to diagram A.2 while AT THE SAME TIME dec 51-60-69-75-84-93 sts evenly on 1st round = 171-198-225-243-270-297 sts. When A.2 has been worked 1 time vertically, switch to circular needle size 4 mm. Then work pattern according to diagram A.3 while AT THE SAME TIME dec 3-6-9-3-6-9 sts evenly on 1st round = 168-192-216-240-264-288 sts. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION When A.3 has been worked 1 time vertically, work pattern according to A.4. After A.4 work pattern according to diagram A.5. When A.5 has been worked 1 time vertically, work pattern according to A.4 again.
READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SECTION BEFORE CONTINUING!
After A.4 switch to circular needle size 3.5 mm. Work pattern according to diagram A.2 AT THE SAME TIME dec 6-2-8-6-2-8 sts evenly on 1st round = 162-190-208-234-262-280 sts and 18-21-23-26-29-31 repetitions on round (NOTE – in size M + L + XXL + XXXL there is 1 st extra at the end of round after last repetition. Work this st as first st in A.2 but K this st on 9th-11th-13th-15th and 17th round). AT THE SAME TIME insert 1 marker at beg of round and 1 marker after 81-95-104-117-131-140 sts.
AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 37-39-40-41-42-43 cm, cast off 2 sts in each side for armholes (i.e. cast off 1 sts on both sides of both markers). Finish front and back piece separately.

BACK PIECE:
= 79-93-102-115-129-138 sts. Continue pattern with 1 edge st in garter st in each side - NOTE: Work the sts that do not fit the pattern towards armhole in stocking st. When A.2 has been worked, switch back to circular needle size 4 mm and continue with off white and in stocking st until finished measurements. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm, cast off the middle 37-37-40-41-43-44 sts for neck and finish each shoulder separately. Continue to dec 1 st on next row from neck = 20-27-30-36-42-46 sts remain on the shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm. Repeat in the other side.

FRONT PIECE:
= 79-93-102-115-129-138 sts. Continue pattern with 1 edge st in garter st in each side as on back piece. When A.2 has been worked, switch back to circular needle size 4 mm and continue with off white and in stocking st until finished measurements. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 46-48-50-50-52-54 cm, slip the middle 19-19-22-23-25-26 sts mid front on 1 stitch holder for neck and finish each shoulder separately. Then cast off for neck at beg of every row from mid front as follows: Cast off 2 sts 3 times and 1 st 4 times = 20-27-30-36-42-46 sts remain on shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm. Repeat in the other side.

SLEEVE:
Worked in the round on double pointed needles.
Cast on 60-60-66-66-72-72 sts on double pointed needle size 3.5 mm with off white. K 1 round. Then work rib = K 3/P 3. When rib measures 8 cm, work pattern in the round according to diagram A.1. Then work pattern in the round according to diagram A.2 while AT THE SAME TIME dec 15-15-12-12-18-18 sts evenly on 1st round = 45-45-54-54-54-54 sts. When A.2 has been worked 1 time vertically, switch to double pointed needles size 4 mm and continue in the round with off white and in stocking st. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 11-11-13-13-14-14 cm, inc 2 sts mid under sleeve. Repeat inc every 2½-2½-2½-2-1½-1½ cm 17-17-15-17-20-21 times in total = 79-79-84-88-94-96 sts.
AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 20-21-22-23-24-25 cm, work round in A.3 marked with arrow (i.e. work 1 round with 2 sts off white, 1 st denim blue). Then continue with off white again until finished measurements.
When sleeve measures 55-53-52-49-47-46 cm, loosely cast off. Knit another sleeve.

ASSEMBLY:
Sew the shoulder seams. Sew in the sleeves inside 1 edge st.

NECK EDGE:
Pick up from RS approx. 106 to 126 sts around the neck (incl sts on stitch holder at the front) on circular needle size 3.5 mm with off white. Work pattern in the round according to A.4 (beg on 2nd round in A.4). When A.4 has been worked 1 time vertically, loosely cast off with K.

This pattern has been corrected. .

Mein allererster Island-Pulli.

DROPS Design 21.09.2018 kl. 14:21:

Neuletiheys on laskettu sileän neuleen perusteella. Tarkista haluamasi puseron mitat mittapiirroksesta. Mikäli neuletiheytesi täsmää, puserosta tulee oikean kokoinen.

Kathi 24.06.2018 - 20:04:

I am confused with this part of the pattern.." 18-21-23-26-29-31 repetitions on round (NOTE – in size M + L + XXL + XXXL there is 1 st extra at the end of round after last repetition. Work this st as first st in A.2 but K this st on 9th-11th-13th-15th and 17th round)I have done the first row decrease and have 208 stitches (making size L)" Does this mean I decrease again on row 18, 21 and so on or on the 9, 11,13....or what? I am hibernating until I know for sure. thanks, Kathi

DROPS Design 25.06.2018 kl. 09:30:

Dear Kathi, you dec on first round in A.2 so that there are 208 sts on the round and then enough sts to repeat A.2 a total of 23 times ( 9 sts in A.2 x 23 = 207 sts, work the last st either K or P as shown in diagram but do not dec this st when working round 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17 = this st will be always worked either K or P). Happy knitting!

Linda 06.10.2016 - 14:03:

The finished sleeve edge is smaller in comparison to the arm hole. If I sew them together, they're going to ripple. The sleeve also feels too tight to me (length is perfect). What would you suggest the number of sts I should add to make a wider sleeve (size XXL)?

DROPS Design 06.10.2016 kl. 15:19:

Dear Linda, remember to check and keep your gauge, in size XXL, you should have 94 sts, with a tension of 21 sts = 10 cm sleeve should be approx. 44 cm circomference, ie 22 cm to fit armhole. If you need it larger, you can make more inc mid under sleeve to fit the width you'd like to. Happy knitting!

Kathy Griffin 27.07.2016 - 22:37:

Thank you for your answer to my previous question. It was most helpful. My current question is related to the sleeve length. Why do the final sleeve measurements decrease in length from XS to XXXL? I am making a size small. The pattern that I have says " when sleeve measures 55-53-52-49-47-46 cm, loosely bind off.

DROPS Design 28.07.2016 kl. 08:39:

Dear Mrs Griffin, sleeves are shorter in larger size because of wider body and shoulders. Happy knitting!

Kathy Griffin 01.07.2016 - 00:30:

With reference to Diagram A.1, once the first row is completed, it would seem that you start the second row with a YO. That would mean that there are 2 YO's per row and only one K2 tog. If I follow this, my number of stitches will increase rather than remain the same.

DROPS Design 01.07.2016 kl. 17:48:

Dear Mrs Griffin, on row 1 in A.1, you work: YO, slip 1 as if to K, K2 tog, psso, YO, P3 = 6 sts, the yos compensate the dec. You should have 6 sts on next row. Happy knitting!

Hilsen Laura

DROPS Design 15.04.2016 kl. 15:32:

Hej Laura. Laes ogsaa her hvordan du laeser vores diagrammer
