Beg every dc row with 1 ch and beg every tr row with 3 ch – these do NOT replace first dc/tr on row.

ROW 1 (= WS): Work 1 tr in every dc.
ROW 2 (= RS): Work 1 dc in every tr.

Dec 1 dc/tr by working 2 sts tog.
Work 2 dc tog as follows: Insert hook in first st and pull yarn through, insert hook in next st and pull yarn through, make 1 YO and pull yarn through all 3 loops on hook.
Work 2 tr tog as follows: Work 1 tr in first st but wait with last pull through, work 1 tr in next st but on last pull through, pull yarn through all 3 loops on hook.

Worked back and forth from mid front.
Work 131-140-153 (162-171) ch on hook size 3 mm with off white. READ CROCHET TIP! Work back as follows (= RS): 1 dc in 2nd ch from hook, then 1 dc in each of the next 3-3-7 (7-7) ch, * skip 1 ch, 1 dc in each of the next 8 ch *, repeat from *-* the entire row = 116-124-136 (144-152) dc. Continue with PATTERN - see explanation above. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! When piece measures 17-18-19 (21-23) cm, divide for armholes.

Continue pattern over the first 25-27-30 (32-34) sts – AT THE SAME TIME dec for armholes by working the 2 outermost sts towards the side tog. Repeat dec every row 6 times in total in all sizes – READ DECREASE TIP! AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 18-19-21 (23-25) cm, dec for neck by working the 2 outermost sts tog towards mid front. Repeat dec every row a total of 9-10-11 (11-12) times. After all dec for armholes and neck, 10-11-13 (15-16) sts remain on shoulder. When piece measures 26-28-30 (33-36) cm, fasten off.

Work as first front piece but reversed, make sure to beg pattern on correct row.

Work back and forth over the middle 50-54-60 (64-68) sts (8 sts in each side = armhole, do not work over these) - AT THE SAME TIME dec for armholes in each side as on front piece = 38-42-48 (52-56) sts remain. When piece measures 25-27-29 (32-35) cm, work 2 rows only over the outermost 10-11-13 (15-16) sts in each side (the middle 18-20-22 (22-24) sts = neck). Cut the yarn.

Sew shoulder seams edge to edge to avoid a chunky seam.
Work 3 rows dc with light steel blue around each armhole - make sure that the edges are neither too tight nor too wide.
Work 3 rows dc along bands and up along neck edge with light steel blue - beg from RS at the bottom on right front piece (do not work around bottom edge on body). On 2nd row (= WS) work 4-4-5 (5-5) buttonholes up along right band. 1 buttonhole = 2 ch, skip 2 dc. Top buttonhole should be approx. 1 cm below where neck dec beg, there should then be approx. 3-3-3½ (3½-3½) cm between each buttonhole. On 3rd row (= last row) work 2 dc over each of the 2 ch for buttonholes. Cut the yarn.
Sew on buttons.

Work 13-14-15 (16-17) LOOSE ch with light steel blue on hook size 3 mm.
Turn and work 1 dc in 2nd ch from hook and then work 1 dc in every ch the entire row = 12-13-14 (15-16) dc in total. Then work 2-2-2 (3-3) rows with dc, to make a total of 3-3-3 (4-4) rows, fasten off. Work another pocket edge. Sew 1 pocket edge on to each front piece – approx. 5-6-7 (8-9) cm from bottom edge and approx. 4-4-5 (5-5) cm from mid front – sew neatly along bottom edge and in each side (there should be an opening at the top).

Bon crochet!

Marine 25.09.2018 - 09:36:

Buon lavoro!

Dsouza 08.10.2017 - 12:28:

When piece measures 17-18-19 (21-23) cm / 6 3/4"-7"-7½" (8 1/4"-9"), divide for armholes. FIRST FRONT PIECE: Continue pattern over the first 25-27-30 (32-34) sts – AT THE SAME TIME dec for armholes by working the 2 outermost sts towards the side tog. Repeat dec every row 6 times in total The Body- After 18 cms what do we do...do we continue the first front pc in the body pc only? Can u post a video on making this vest. Thank you

DROPS Design 08.10.2017 kl. 22:28:

Dear Dsouza, when the piece is 17-18-19 (21-23) cm, the stitches should be divided for the two fronts and the back, and tehy are each finished separately. You can find videos to help you along by clicking at the small icons at the bottom of the pattern, and do not forget that you can also ask for personal help in the store you bought your DROPS yarm from. Happy crocheting!

Dsouza 07.10.2017 - 19:14:

Do we decrease from both sides for the armhole

DROPS Design 08.10.2017 kl. 06:44:

Hi Dsouza, You decrease on only one side on the front pieces (away from mid front) and on both sides on the back piece. Happy knitting!

Jennifer Dorndorf 21.06.2016 - 20:46:
