CROCHET INFO:
Replace first dc on 2ND ROUND with ch 3 and finish round with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round.
1 picot = [1 sc, ch 3, 1 sl st in 1st ch, 1 sc] in same ch-space.
----------------------------------------------------------

1ST HEXAGON:
Worked in the round. Ch 4 on hook size 2.5 mm/C with Safran and form a ring with 1 sl st in 1st ch.
ROUND 1: ch 1, 12 sc in ch-ring.
ROUND 2: 2 dc - Read CROCHET INFO above - in every sc the entire round = 24 dc.
ROUND 3: ch 1, 1 sc in 1st dc, * ch 2, skip 1 dc, 1 sc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round, finish with ch 2, 1 sl st in 1st sc from beg of round = 12 sc and 12 ch-spaces.
ROUND 4: Sl st until 1st ch-space, work 1 picot in same ch-space, * 3 sc in next ch-space, 1 picot in next ch-space *. Repeat from *-* the entire round, finish with 3 sc in next ch-space, 1 sl st in 1st sc from beg of round = 6 picots and 6 sc-groups with 3 sc.
Fasten off.

2ND HEXAGON:
Work rounds 1 to 3 as 1ST HEXAGON. Work the hexagons tog on 4TH ROUND as follows:
ROUND 4: Sl st until 1st ch-space, work 1 picot in same ch-space, * 3 sc in next ch-space, 1 picot in next ch-space *. Repeat from *-* a total of 3 times. Then work 3 sc in next ch-space, in next ch-space work [1 sc, ch 1, work with WS against WS 1 sl st in one picot on 1st hexagon (= 1st crochet tog), ch 1, 1 sl st in 1st ch, 1 sc]. In next ch-space work [1 sc, insert hook in same ch-space and in the mid sc on next sc-group with 3 sc on 1st hexagon, and work 1 sc (= 2nd crochet tog), 1 sc]. In next ch-space work [1 sc, ch 1, work with WS against WS 1 sl st in next picot on 1st hexagon (= 3rd crochet tog), ch 1, 1 sl st in 1st ch, 1 sc]. Finish with 3 sc in next ch-space, 1 sl st in 1st sc from beg of round = 6 picots and 18 sc. Fasten off.
Crochet another 7 hexagons the same way as 2ND HEXAGON (crochet tog with previous hexagon on 4TH ROUND) = 1 band with 9 hexagons.

TIES:
Crochet along the outer edge on 1ST HEXAGON as follows:
ROW 1: 1 sc in every sc = 5 sc (3 sc in the middle + 1 sc from picots on each side), turn.
ROW 2: ch 1, 1 sc in every sc = 5 sc, turn
ROW 3: ch 1, skip 1st sc, 1 sc in the next 2 sc, skip next sc, 1 sc in last sc = 3 sc, turn.
ROW 4: ch 1, skip 1st sc, * insert hook in next st, get thread *, repeat from *-* one more time, make a YO and pull thread through all 3 sts on hook = 1 st remains.
Now work ch for approx. 20 cm / 8'' (or desired length), turn and work 1 sl st in every ch back, fasten off.
Work another tie the same way on the last hexagon.
