Pattern instructions

NOTE: This pattern is written in American English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from inches to cm - click here. There are different terms for crocheting in American and British English. If this pattern includes crochet, click for "crochet terms" here. For this pattern in British English, please click here.
GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows.

Worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 6 sts on circular needle size 15 mm / US 19 with light brown Vienna. Work GARTER ST - see above (row 1 = WS) and STRIPES as described below. AT THE SAME TIME at the end of every row from RS inc 1 st by working 2 sts in the last st. NOTE: Make all color changes at the end of row from RS, leave approx 20 cm / 8'' thread for tassels.

Repeat from *-*

(X) = The second time the stripes are repeated finish with this stripe incl = mid back. Now finish the inc, and dec 1 st at the end of every row from RS by K2 tog.

(XX) = The third time the stripes are repeated finish here with this stripe incl. Work 6 rows with tan Eskimo + heather Cotton Viscose and bind off.

Crochet a row of US sc (UK dc) along the top of shawl with hook size 10 mm / N/15 and tan Eskimo – make sure edge isn’t too tight.

Cut strands measuring approx 40 cm / 16'' each of the remaining yarn. Place the strands double and pull the loop through the sts along the 2 sides of shawl, pull ends through loop. Place the tassels with regular intervals and tie tog with thread ends from color change.
