Dear Maha, when you put all your sts together, insert a marker in the first and in the last st from both sleeves. Start then dec for raglan when 2 sts remain before st with marker and work as follows : K2 tog, K1 (st with marker), sl 1, K1, psso. Repeat at each marker: you dec 2 sts at each marker=8 sts per dec row. Happy knitting!

DROPS short jacket with raglan and short sleeves in Symphony or Melody
DROPS 100-9 |
|
Knitting tension: 13 sts x 18 rows on needle size 8 mm with Symphony or Melody in stocking sts = 10 x 10 cm Knitting tip: If knitting tension is incorrect in height and knitting is too tight the raglan decrease will be to short and armhole too small. Adjust this by knitting 1 extra round without dec every so often between decreases. Garter st forth and back: Knit all rows. Buttonhole: Cast off for buttonhole on right front band. 1 buttonhole = cast off 2nd sts from mid front. On next row cast on 1 new sts over dec sts. Cast off for buttonhole when piece measures: Size S: 3, 9, 14, 19 and 25 cm. Size M: 3, 9, 15, 21 and 27 cm. Size L: 3, 9, 16, 22 and 29 cm. Size XL: 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 cm. Size XXL: 3, 11, 18, 25 and 33 cm. Decreasing tip (applies to raglan): Dec as follows from RS: Start 2 sts before sts with marking thread(MT): K2 tog, K1 (MT placed in this sts), slip 1 st as if to knit, K1, psso. Back and front pieces: Knit piece back and forth on circular needles from mid front. Cast on 104-114-124-138-152 sts (incl 4 front band sts on each side) on circular needles size 8 mm with Symphony or Melody. Knit 4 rows garter st, continue in stocking sts but garter st 4 front band sts on each side until piece is completed. Cast off for buttonhole on right front band – see explanation above. Insert 1 MT 28-30-33-36-40 sts in on piece from each side. When piece measures 10 and 15 cm inc 1 sts on each side of MT = 112-122-132-146-160 sts. When piece measures 16-17-18-19-20 cm cast off 3 sts on each side of MT = 27-29-32-35-39 sts on each front piece and 46-52-56-64-70 sts on back piece. Leave piece to one side. Sleeve: Knit piece back and forth. Cast on 45-48-51-53-56 sts (incl 1 edge sts on each side) on needles size 8 mm with Symphony or Melody. Knit 4 rows garter st , at the same time on last row cast off 4 sts each side = 37-40-43-45-48 sts. Leave sleeve to one side and knit 1 more. Yoke: Slip sleeves onto same circular needle as back and front pieces where sts are cast off for armhole = 174-190-206-224-244 sts. Insert 1 MT in all transition between sleeves and back and front pieces. Insert MT in 1st st from sleeve = 4 MT. Continue in stocking sts at the same time dec for raglan. Knit 0-0-1-1-1 rounds before commencing raglan decrease. There are 8 dec per round - read Decreasing tip. Dec on every 4th row 4-4-3-3-3 times in total, then on every other row 7-8-10-11-12 times in total. At the same time when piece measures 26-28-30-32-34 cm slip 8 sts on each side mid front onto 1 thread or stitch holder and cast off 1 st to shape neckline on every other row: 4 times in total. There are 62-70-78-88-100 sts left on needle after all decreases are completed. Pick up approx 12 to 14 sts on each side of neckline (incl sts on thread or stitch holder) = approx 86 to 128 sts. Knit 4 rows garter st, at the same time adjust sts number on 1st row to 70-75-80-85-90 sts. Cast off, piece measures approx 36-38-40-42-44 cm. Assembly: Sew tog sleeve seams within 1 edge st. Sew tog opening under arms. Sew in buttons. |
