Pattern instructions

Knitting tension: 20 sts x 26 rows on needle size 4 mm = 10 x 10 cm
Edge: Knit 3 cm stocking sts, P1 round (= folding edge – measure piece from this point), 3 cm stocking sts.
Pattern: Knit entire pattern in stocking sts.

Body: Knit sweater on circular needles and cut up for armhole afterwards. Cast on 184 (190-196) sts on circular needle size 2.5 mm with violet and knit Edge. Change to circular needle size 4 mm at the same time inc 44 (50-56) sts evenly on 1st row = 228 (240-252) sts. Continuing, knit pattern as follows: M.1, then continue in violet until piece measures 27 (28-28) cm, M.2 start at arrow and knit sts for front piece, start at arrow again and knit sts for back piece), at the same tiem when piece measures 28 (29-29) cm inc 4 sts on each side (these sts are for cutting later and should not be incorporated into pattern). After M.2 knit M.3. Remember knitting tension – then M.1 (turn pattern repeat upside down), and then complete in violet. - When piece measures 54 (55-55) cm cast off middle 38 (40-40) sts for neck front. Continuing, cast off 2 sts 1 times, 1 sts 2 times on each side to shape neckline. When piece measures 57 (58-58) cm cast off middle 42 (44-44) sts for neck back. Continuing cast off 2 sts on each side on next row to shape neckline. Cast off when piece measures 58 (59-59) cm

Sleeve: Cast on 46 (46-48) sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm with violet and knit Edge. Change to double pointed needles size 4 mm at the same time inc 12 (14-12) sts evenly on 1st row = 58 (60-60) sts. Knit M.1 (place one pattern repeat mid sleeve) – At the same time inc mid under sleeve on each side of middle sts 1 sts 31 (31-31) times alternating * every 3rd and 4th row * = 120 (122-122) sts. After M.1 continue knitting violet until piece measures 31 (31-30) cm, now knit M.3, and then M.1 (put turn pattern repeat upside down), and then complete with violet. When piece measures 49 (49-48) cm knit 2 cm stocking sts with WS out for folding edge over cutting edge of body.

Assembly: Sew in a marking thread down the middle of inc sts on each side. Sew two seams on sewing machine around marking thread, 1st seam = 1/2 sts from 1st st from thread, 2nd seam = 1/2 sts from 1st seam. Cut up for armhole. Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx 104 sts on circular needle size 2,5 mm with violet and knit 2.5 cm stocking sts, change to dark rose, 2 rounds stocking sts, next row as follows: * K2 tog, yo *, then 3 cm stocking sts, cast off. Fold all Edges towards WS and sew. Sew sleeves onto body from RS as follows: Sew alternating 1 st in last garter st round of sleeve before folding edge and 1 sts on body after machine seam. Turn WS out on sweater and sew folding edge from sleeves over cutting edge onto body by hand.
