---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- CHAIN STITCH: If you work at the end of crochet hook the chain stitch will often be too tight 1 chain stitch should be just as long as 1 treble crochet is wide. CROCHET INFORMATION: At beginning of every round with treble crochets replace first treble crochet with 3 chain stitches. Finish round with 1 slip stitch in 3rd chain stitch at beginning of round. At beginning of every row with treble crochets replace first treble crochet with 3 chain stitches, on next row finish row with 1 treble crochet in 3rd chain stitch. PATTERN: Head band: See diagrams A.1, A.2 and A.3. Diagrams A.1 and A.3 show how rows begin. Neck warmer: See diagram A.4, A.5 and A.6. Diagram A.4 shows how round begins. BOBBLE: Work 1 triple treble crochet but wait with last pull through (= 2 loops on hook). Work 4 triple treble crochets the same way in same stitch = 6 loops on hook. Make 1 yarn over on hook, pull through all loops on hook and tighten strand. INCREASE TIP (evenly): To calculate how to increase evenly, use the total number of stitches on round (e.g. 96 stitches) and divide stitches by number of increases to be done (e.g. 9) = 10.6. In this example increase by working 2 treble crochets in alternately every 10th and 11th stitch the entire round. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- HEAD BAND - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Worked back and forth and sewn together mid back. HEAD BAND: Work 20 chain stitches on hook size 4 mm with Air. Read CHAIN STITCH and CROCHET INFORMATION in explanation above. Work according to diagram A.1 over 1 stitch, work according to A.2 until 3 stitches remain, work A.3 over 3 stitches. From wrong side work A.3 over A.3, A.2 over A.2 and A.1 over A.1. When you have worked to and with 3rd round, repeat 2nd-3rd row vertically. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! When piece measures 48-50 cm, work a row as 4th row (because of measurements this row might be from the opposite side than the one in diagram). Let the yarn end be approx. 30 cm before cutting it and pulling it through last stitch. Use strand to sew stitches from last row to chain stitches from beginning of piece. ---------------------------------------------------------- NECK WARMER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Work in the round. NECK WARMER: Work 120 chain stitches with hook size 5 mm and Air, form a ring with 1 slip stitch in 1st chain stitch. Read CHAIN STITCH and CROCHET INFORMATION in explanation above, and work first round as follows: Work 1 treble crochet in each of the first 4 chain stitches, * skip 1 chain stitch, work 1 treble crochet in each of the next 4 chain stitches *, work from *-* the entire round and finish by skipping 1 chain stitch and work 1 slip stitch in first stitch at beginning of round = 96 treble crochets. Work diagram A.5 over all stitches, A.4 shows how round begins. Work diagram 1 time vertically (= 3 rounds in total with A.5). Then work diagram A.6 over all stitches, A.4 shows how round begins. Work diagram A.6 1 time in total vertically (6 rounds with A.6). REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! Work 1 round with 1 treble crochet in every stitch the entire round. On next round work treble crochets while at the same time increasing 9 treble crochets evenly - read INCREASE TIP in explanation above = 105 stitches. Work 1-2 rounds with treble crochets. On next round work treble crochets while at the same time increasing 9 treble crochets evenly = 114 stitches. Work 1-2 rounds with treble crochets. On next round work treble crochets while at the same time increasing 10 stitches evenly = 124 stitches. Work 1 round with treble crochets. Work 1 treble crochet in each of the first 2 treble crochets, * work 1 BOBBLE - read explanation above, work 1 treble crochet in each of the next 4 treble crochets *, work from *-* the entire round and finish with 1 treble crochet in each of the last 2 treble crochets = 24 bobbles on round. Work 1 round with treble crochets. Repeat the last 2 rows of A.5 over the next 4 rounds (= 2 times vertically), A.4 shows how round begins. Cut the yarn, pull it through the last stitch before fastening tightly. |
