Hi..Ich Mag diese Jacke sehr. Leider wellt sich bei meiner die Mitte. Was mach ich falsch?
29.03.2015 - 03:21DROPS Design answered:

Dear Michele, you can first pin the sleeve on armhole to make sure it is correctly placed before sewing. Happy crocheting!

The pattern states to chain 49. also will u pls. explain what the 5-2-5 indicates for future reference also it states to repeat with 6 tr. till 4 chains remain, which indicates to me to crochet 6tr more than the once. I am trying to make sence(for future reference), of what appears to me to be 2 different sets of instructions. thank you in advace for your time.
03.01.2015 - 16:49DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Griffin, "5-2-5 ch" means 5 ch in 1st and 3rd size and 2 ch in 2nd size - you crochet 49 ch and start with 1 tr in 5th ch from hook (= first 2 tr), 1 tr in each of the next 5 th (= 5 tr), then repeat *skip 1 ch, 1 tr in each of the next 6 ch* (= you will work 6 tr over 7 ch a total of 5 times, ie work 30 tr over the next 35 ch), 4 ch remain, skip 1 ch and work 1 tr in each of the last 3 ch (3 tr worked over 4 ch) = 40 tr worked over 49 ch (including the first 4 ch = 1st tr). Happy crocheting!

I am doing this in xxl. i am confused with directions for sleeve. the 5-2-5 makes no sence to me and after chaining 49' chain turn tr in 5th space and crochet 5 tr, sk ch, then 6tr, sk st (chain), 6 again. the chain 3 after the sk st after the last 6' there is not 40 tr. some please explaix specific direction for sleeves in xxl. thank you so much
03.01.2015 - 06:41DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Griffin, work sleeve in largest size as follows: 45ch, 1 tr in the 5ch from hook (=2 tr), then skip 1 ch, 1 tr in each of the next 5 ch (= 5 tr), repeat a total of 5 times (skip 1 ch, 1 tr in each of the next 6 tr) (= you have worked a total of 30 tr over 35ch), skip 1 ch and 1 tr in each of the last 3 ch (=40 tr worked over 49 ch - first 4 ch = 1st tr). Happy crocheting!

I have two more questions regarding this pattern. I am making the l/xl for a roomier fit, and am confused with how to proceed after row 24. It states: "Then work only over 24 ch-spaces in each side – i.e. do not work over the 19 ch-spaces at top by neck or the 19 ch-spaces at bottom of back". - Where on the sides, are these 24 ch spaces? Also, for the sleeves it states: ROW 1: 1 tr in 5th ch from hook, 1 tr in each of the next 5-2-5 ch.., I don't understand the 5-2-5... What does this mean?
27.08.2014 - 23:30DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sara, when piece measures 36 cm from center and outwards, you continue each front piece separately. Count and center 19 ch-loops at the middle top for neck and 19 ch-loops at the middle bottom for bottom of back piece, each front piece will be worked on each side. For sleeve, in size L/XL, you will work 1 tr in each of the next 2 ch (fist 5 ch applies for size S, last 5 ch for largest size). Happy crocheting!

I have started this pattern, and am currently on row 11. I am wondering once I need to select my size, which to choose, as I have no idea regarding the bust measurements. What are the measurements in inches for the S/M, and the L/XL. I am usually a medium, so am unsure if I should go up a size.
26.08.2014 - 15:26DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sara, you will find at the bottom of written pattern a measurement chart in cm (click here to convert into inches), compare these measurements to a similar garment you have and like the shape to find out the matching size. Happy crocheting!

PICOT: Work 4 ch, then 1 tr in the first ch made. DECREASE TIP: Dec 3 dtr at the beg and end of row by working the first 4 or last 4 dtr tog. This is done as follows: Work 1 dtr but wait with last pull through (when dec at the beg of row, work 3 ch instead of 4), work 1 more dtr but wait with last pull through, work 1 more dtr but wait with last pull through, work the last dtr but on last pull through, pull thread through all 5 loops on hook. Piece now measures approx. 40 cm from centre and outwards, cut the thread. Then work only over 28 ch-loops in each side – i.e. do not work over the 23 ch-loops at top by neck or the 23 ch-loops at bottom of back. Continue with explanation below front piece. LEFT FRONT PIECE: = 21-24-28 ch-loops. Continue as follows: ROW 1: Crochet 1 dtr in every dc (first dtr is replaced with 4 ch) and 2 dtr in every ch-loop – AT THE SAME TIME work the first 4 and the last 4 dtr on row tog - SEE DECREASE TIP! – i.e. 6 dtr less on row every time 1st row is worked. ROW 2: 4 ch (= 1 dc + 3 ch) up from first dtr (i.e the 4 worked tog), * skip 2 dtr, 1 dc in next dtr, 3 ch *, repeat from *-*, finish with 1 dc in last dtr (i.e. the 4 worked tog). Repeat 1st and 2nd row a total of 4-5-6 times (= approx. 13-17-20 cm). 13-14-16 ch-loops remain at the edge of front piece. Cut the thread. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Work the same way as on left front piece over 21-24-28 ch-loops in the right side. SLEEVE: Worked back and forth and sewn tog at the end. Work 42-46-49 loose ch (incl 4 ch to turn with) on hook size 6 mm with Paris. ROW 1: 1 dtr in 5th ch from hook, 1 dtr in each of the next 5-2-5 ch, * skip 1 ch, 1 dtr in each of the next 6 ch *, repeat from *-* until 4 ch remain, skip 1 ch and work 1 dtr in each of the last 3 ch = 34-37-40 dtr. Turn piece. Work 1 row with 1 dtr in every dtr (first dtr is replaced with 4 ch). Continue with PATTERN for sleeve – see explanation above. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures approx. 20 cm (adjust so that next row is 2nd row in pattern), inc 3 dtr evenly. Repeat inc approx. every 8 cm 3 more times = 46-49-52 dtr in total on row. NOTE: Hold the piece up when measuring the sleeve length otherwise it will be to long when worn. When piece measures approx. 49 cm for all sizes (adjust so that next row is 1st row in pattern), dec in each side for sleeve cap as follows: Work sl sts over the first 4 dtr, then work ch-loops as before until 3 dtr remain, turn piece. On next row work the first 4 and the last 4 dtr tog – SEE DECREASE TIP! Repeat dec every other row 2 more times. Cut the thread, piece measures approx. 59 cm in all sizes. Sew sleeve seams edge to edge to avoid a chunky seam. ASSEMBLY: Work 1 round around the entire body as follows – beg mid back of neck with 1 dc in first ch-loop. * 1 picot (= 4 ch, 1 tr in first ch), skip approx. 1½ cm, 1 dc *, repeat from *-* around the entire piece, finish with 1 sl st in first dc. Work the same way around the opening of the sleeves. Sew sleeves in body - make sure that the sleeve caps are sewn in at the top of armhole, i.e. at the shortest distance between the armholes. |
